FDA approved edibles?

So,

I am a medical patient in CO. and I was told today, that after the 1st of March all the edibles in the dispensaries are going to have to be FDA approved...

1st off...FDA? Really...keep your grubby hands off! Just another way for a branch of bureaucrats to make a little more.

2nd...the fancy wrappers and logos that come with the FDA approvals are the last edibles anyone wants...they cost 10-20 dollars and it's apparent after one bite that you payed for the wrapper, not for the ingredients.

3rd...back to the FDA. It's not even considered to be medicine in there system, it's still under the 'D' in their name? Schedule 1.

What is going on here, bad info...or another branch of the gov't trying to BUTT in?

When I make my treats, I make them with utmost care, using ingredients that are as local as possible and pure...this is going back to politicians thinking that they can do everyone's job. First they are our docter's, now they are our cooks?!?

That makes no sense at all. The FDA would not approve anything that contained an illegal drug in it, period, and as far as the federal govt is concerned, marijuana is an illegal drug, so - no edibles?

Go ahead and read that as 'Make your own'. There will be no FDA approvals for anything containing MJ or its extracts.

Not FDA approved....but rather the place making them has to have a health dept. inspection just like any commercial kitchen would.

Ahh, big difference there. I actually agree with this one. If you're cooking for others, you should meet the same requirements as any other establishment doing the same.
