Hello, so being pretty new to the old school strains, i wanted to know opinions of people who have knowledge of these following Landrace and what are your favorites :

Colombian Punto Rojo (CBG)
Jamaican Lambsbread
Mango Thai (Typical Thai, RSC)
Highland Thai (potentially Chinese / Thai hybrid, RSC)
Zamal Mangu karot (French Touch Seeds)
Zamal K1 (French Touch Seeds)
Old school Mexican (a few, like jarilla de sinaloa from CBG)
Kerala (RSC)
Ghana (CBG)
Mangobiche (CBG)

Info are pretty rare on most of them so if you have any experience with them, feel free to share ^^

av only had one so far, was probably from mexico, stringy dr. grinspoon looking buds, very different golden cloud like high
smelled like toasted honey musk with light light inspipid sweet skunk
it was an amazing thing to try for the first time, needless to say wish i'd saved seeds and still miss it to this day

i keep hearing about the old mexican. I'm really interested to try it, the effects sounds amazing each time

I'ts been reported that Ace Guatemala has happy mexican like effects
I think dubi said he's going to make another reproduction of it but not in the direct future
their tikal is 75% Guatemala

my experience with the mexican i had was deffinately an experience to remember :)
nothing like enjoying a peaceful afternoon with a golden haze surrounding everything around you including your smile

wow... im so interested haha ^^ golden gaze in the afternoon, sounds like a dream

I heard that too, i have heard the same of Hondiras, and the Honduras and Guatemala are also supposedly very, very similar... I just harvested mine 2 days ago, i can't wait to try her

Also, apparently, Jarilla de Sinaloa from Cannabiogen is one of the most authentic mexican you could get today people have told me, i have heard excellent reports on the strain and that it was very close to the old mexican, although not very strong. I have contacted sinaloa, he said there is no indica in the strain and the shorter flowerong was due to selection, although most reports ive seen say its closer to a 14 weeks strain than a 12 one. I think ill definitely add it to my next grow :D

I’m really looking forward to trying the Kerala from RSC. There have been a few nice reports, but trying a pure sativa from one of the world’s oldest sensi traditions has been on my growing bucket list forever. Mel Frank said the sweetest plant he ever grew was from S. Indian stock, and SamS rates the best from Kerala as rivaling Thai. That’s intriguing!

As a very old toker I got to taste most of those firsthand begining in mid 1969..

Granted, most Mexican in those days was bricked up so-so weed. But as we got a couple years older and got better connections, we got to sample some amazing Mexicans back then...
Acapulco Gold in '71 and some Michoacán and Oaxacan around '73 through '78..

And the wonderful Colombian Gold bud, and soon after, the Red bud came to the East coast around 1974...

But for me, going to Jamaica in '72 and '73 was great..
Both trips I went far off the beaten path, up into the hills to visit and be the guest of the real Rastafarians..

I got to smoke the real lambsbread with my Rasta hosts and it was amazing, uplifting ganja..
My friend Bully, told me he smoked so much ganja becausse it made him smarter..

Back home in Virginia I got to smoke the real deal Thai stick in the early 70's also...
Wow, that was some powerful weed...

Here's a pic from my second trip in 73..
I took my buddy this time and we stayed with Bully and his young apprentices, way back in the hills..

..

I had BSC's punto rojo, haven't tried CBG's version. BSC's version is quite strong with an incredible, uplifting high. Great resin production too, you can get some nice rosin yields with it. Some old pics:

My favorite would be Michoacan. No commercial seed dealers have anything pure. All mixed with something. Never have understood why someone wants to take something very good and screw it up with inferior genes so it is "their" strain.

Who is BSC?

the comments above are correct, it's the now defunct brazilian seed company. It's was a nightmare ordering from them, and germination rates were poor for the seeds that didn't get smashed upon arrival. My first order took about 4 months to arrive. Everything came smashed, so they sent me a replacement (which took a year to arrive and multiple follow ups), where about 70% of the seeds arrived smashed (for whatever reason, they refused to send the seeds in better packaging the second time).

Right before they closed their doors, I sent in a last order with my fingers crossed. 1 month later, nothing arrived, sent in a follow up, didn't hear back. Sent another follow up a few weeks later, and then one last one, they never replied. Their genetics are amazing, but there's a reason genetics from this company are so rare.....order at your own risk!

I have seeds of punto rojo seeds from the original grow out that have been carefully kept in cold storage, but they're approaching maybe 9 years old now. Had great germination in 2017, but need to do a germination test to see if they're still good.

sorry, forgot to answer... i have managed to contact him (luis from bsc), he is still working so thanks to you. i got a lot of strains, well packaged, secure and not crushed. he probably improved a lot since then, everything was top notch regarding the transaction.

He has a lot of what seems to be old and forgotten strains, some colombian, brazilian, mexican... I have asked if i could say i got the seeds from him and he said yes. you need to know what you want from him though, so ask him directly if you want something. I will grow some of them in my next run :) will know very soon how good they are and if they are the real deal... stay tuned

thank you herbgreen, you rock!
