today by sheer chance and luck of being in the right place at the right time
I got my ultimate guitar
not the one I planned on getting but you'll see in a minute

I'd been saving for a few months to buy a new accoustic and had my eye on a particular model
and had seen it on the local music shops web site and had my mind pretty much made up

well today I decided to go and get it as I was feeling low due to an annaversery
and needed cheering up

so on a whim I said to myself go do it now and do it while I have the motivation
so I walked up to the shop (about a 10 minute walk) and go up to the 3rd floor accoustic guitar department

to my dismay the guitar I wanted wasn't there on display so I grab's a salesman
"excuse me mate, i'm looking for the EW20WNE Ibanez, the EW20ZWE is there but WNE isn't there"
he says "Gimmie a sec to I check the stock" a minute later he returns and says its sold
but he can order it and have it for me in a week in the same colour

bummer but what can I do so I say Ok that will do but can I try the ZWE as its almost the same
and will give me a feel for it, sure feel free try away and he left me to it
so I play it
and to be honest I was almost tempted to buy it there and then even though the look wasn't exactly what I wanted

I'd just put it down when another salesman came over and asked if I needed help
I explained what had happened and he said he was sure the model I wanted, Oh please make my day I thought
he pulled out some boxes and got out an Ibanez box and opened it and bust the protective cover

Oh thats not it he says but the quick look I got was enough for me, my heart stopped and skipped a beat
he says this is an EW30 the next model up from the one you want, I replied "I don't care, how much is it"
he didn't know off hand so went to find out, which seemed to take forever
the box lay in front of me but I didn't want to tease myself by opening it to see it fully

eventually her returned an says its the same price as the one I want
Slap me and tell me I'm dreaming, I suddenly had a grin from ear to ear
"wrap it up its to go" was my reply
I still hadn't taken it out of the box or seen it apart from the glimpse when he opened it
but I knew in my heart it was the one for me

he throws in a soft case and a few plec's for me (bags were on sale anyway but I'll take it free anyday)
so I strap it on my back and head back full of anticipation of trying it out

when I finally unzipped the bag and took it out I knew there and then I'd made the right decision
and when I played it for the first time I fell in love instantly and havn't put it down since

to be honest I'm not a good guitarist I just love to strum away on my own
but this guitar I feel so comfortable playing, way more than any other guitar I've played or owned
were like old friends already and I have a new love in my life

Pic's in order are the guitar I wanted, the one I tried, and finally my baby

Congrats,Old Pink. My wife was the same way when I bought her a Guild dreadnought. She has had it for 20 years now and loves it more than me.

Congrats oldpink. Know your feelings

Mind if i drop in and spread a little good bass-vibes.
Bought my Ibanez 27 years ago (the amp 5 years later).
I really loves her:

can't wait to get home and have a jam

can't wait to get home and have a jam

theres nothing that I like better than sitting with a few friends having a smoke and a beer
getting the guitars out and having a good jam for a few hours
theres never a shortage of guitars or people to play them, my new one will feel right at home

problem is my son is a much better guitarist than I'll ever be and he'll want to "Borrow" it
then it will be a fight to get it back from him even though he has more than enough guitars already

18 and Doh!
Good for you oldpink. Enjoy her.

Guitar is the shit. Gettin blazed and playin music is great but not if your in a metal band lol. You loose the anger necessary for that raw angry stuff. It's funny how my metal band would play hardcore metal for a few hours. Than we'd toke and all start playing reggae.
peace

I've had the pleasure to play two Eko 12 stringers and loved them
my friends father has had one for over 20 years now and a friend of his has one as well
I'll get some pic's of my 12 string soon not an Eko but not too shabby either
