fan vibration

Hello everyone, i have a problem i have set the grow room , i have 2 fans for the airflow (intake and outtake)

i use the iso max can fan 870 3 speed here is the link of them http://www.alchimiaweb.com/en/iso-max-200870-3-speed-air-extractor-product-5410.php

and i have place them in a wooden builden box up and down in the growbox to reduce more the noise..

it is like this Bazooka Bumble ........ 89 puprle afghani x Sour Diesel - pre 98 bubba kush x djshort original blueb

i have put insulated duct ..

and the problem is that it vibrates much and i dont want any neighbors to understand ..

the distance between the growbox and the ceiling is about 2 cm and i dont know if the next floor apartment can hear it but if they drop a spoon or something like that i can hear it..

if anyone knows any way to fix this or if someone have any material to suggest me i will be grateful

if you have any material in mind notice that it must not be heatinsulated material beacuse the outake fan is going to take heat from the growbox of 850w lamps a 600w and a 250w..

oh and the growbox space will be 1.30m x 1.30m just in case

thank you..

I used rubber mats between the fan and the wall or wherever you plan to secure it to really reduced the vibration form me. The rubber mats i used were mouse pads from my computer.

I find a suspension system works the best. My intake fan is on the floor (on a 6" lift to keep it out of water) and my exhaust fan is suspended from the ceiling with bungee cords.

In another setup, I screwed hooks in the ceiling and hung the fan on the hooks using rubber washers and duct tape to isolators.

Both work well but, I don't really like bungee chords so I prefer the rubber and hooks.

I also use a hanging method, I just use some nylon straps that i had laying around. I would recommend going kind of overboard when doing the hanging method and making sure it is really really secure. I was pretty nervous about it at first, but 6 months later and it is still going strong and really very very quiet. Bungee cords do seem like a better option, if i see a good deal on some I might switch over.

Well i find the bungee cords a verry good idea for hanging a lot recomend it and the good thing it is that they are flexible and absorb all or much vibration but the thing is that the distance between the fan and the grow box celling is only 5cm it is ok to try it there or is not much

The only thing I don't like about bungee cords is that the cheap ones stretch. So, in a couple months your fans is hanging 2" lower than it started. LOL

For close quarters the hook with rubber bushings works best for me. Only takes a few inches of space.

get the pipe insulation from the hardware store.
it come in 1/2"--3/4" and absorbs a lot of vibrations.
i used it on the mounting system for my 6 ecoplus wall fans

This ^^^, that said tho ...any kinks or bends will reduce air velocity by 25% ..with an audible increase of about the same depending on materials used, best to remove all bends and kinks ..lol

how i can fit them with bungees or elastic ropes the free space between the fan and the growbox celling is only 5cm..

I had the same situation so I used the 2 hooks with rubber insulators for the vibration. Not sure what your fan looks like but mine had 2 holes for mounting. I screwed 2 hooks with bolts into those. Then, I screwed a hook into the ceiling (I don't know what your ceiling is, though).

Then, I just duct taped some rubber washers as insulators between the 2 hooks and I killed almost all the vibration.

I'll try to get a pic of it later.

Sorry, went back to your original post and saw the fan you're using.

I would probably just wrap 2 straps around it. Rubber, nylon, whatever. And, then wrap those around whatever you have to hang from. What's your ceiling?

the celling is 130cm x 130cm and it is the grow box celling

Is it strong enough to screw a hook into?

Here are some shots of mine. I am hanging from the tent rod but if you could screw a hook into the ceiling you would have about the same setup.

You don't have clamps like that on the side with yours but wrapping 2 straps around it and hooking the straps to the ceiling hooks would give you about the same clearance.

They sell isolation mounts for fans that take up a large amount of the vibration. All thread works great for hanging fans.

i screw to the box celling 2 of that and i put 2 bungees around the fan the bunges are hanged to 2 rubbers on the screws and it is fine :D

thank you for the advice !!!

cheers
