Fan Speed Controls

What fan speed controller do I need for my 600cfm fan. I dont always need it to run at full speed so I want to have control over how much power it gets.

Just goto the hardware store,get a dimmer switch,for an electric motor,there a little more than double price than the halogen dimmers(12$ cad),and get a double recepticle box,and a plain old recepticle,wire them up so the dimmer runs the recepticle,and run a 3wire cord/plug,like from a extension cord.mount them in the double box side by side ,and you could even get a cover to make it look pretty.
i built 2 this winter,5 or 10 minutes to do it

I saw some on ebay not to long ago.It was for an elicent fan, but would imagine it would work with any fan.

Flourescent light dimmer switches should work similar from HomeDepot for maybe $8-12 US. Haven't looked in a while at dimmer switches.
