Fan Controller.... (MdHydro)

Question, MD Hydro gave me a "light control" which I found out isn't a light control after I first tried the original one on a 600watt light and burnt out the controller... so they sent me a replacement speed controller again and said for me to use it w/ my vortex... question is, I want to hookup my 6" and 4" to it... is it possible? Please let me know, Id hate to burn out another controller!

Also... for the life of me I can't get my focking timer to work... how in gods name do you get these auto timers to work.... I can't figure out all this shit w/ the spinning dial, red and green tabs... on and off dial @ top... to focking confusing... anyone?

For the timer. Put the red one on the time you want it to turn off and the blue ( or green) one on the time you want it on. Put th center dial on the time of day it is right now and plug it in. Thats it

Can I connect 2 fans and a light to that timer? theres no grounds anywhere on it... how would I even plug in equip[ment that needed to be grounded, theres no 3rd prong...

Get a surge protector and plug eqipment in that then plug surge protector to the timer. That way fans and lights come on at the same time. as well as having protection for your eqipment in case of power surge

As there is no ground on the timer hookup I don't think he would be protected in case of a power surge/strike. You can get a 3 -> 2 prong adapter just about anywhere. A lot of them will also have a tab on it that you could manually hook to a ground if you wanted to. Also, your best bet would be to put just the light on the timer as most people like air circulation 24/7.

It seems you didn't look hard enough when you bought that. I have both the 2prong (bought first) and the 3 prong version. Take it back and pick up the 3 prong version.

Dude- A 600 watt light is going to "FRY" that timer and possibly cause a fire.

I would not use that for anything except a fan or low wattage lights.

true, you need to get a heavy duty timer that has mutople outlets built into it. I have two of them. thats what you need or the thing will melt. Plus you can tell it is a shitty one, has no ground :pointlaug

I have this exact timer except I have the heavy duty one with the extra ground male connector. I hate it with a passion, because I can never be exact with it. Right now I have been able to get it within 10 minutes of my chosen start/stop time, but it is a bitch to change. I'm going to stop fucking around with it after this grow and get myself a digital one....
