Fan and light for cab like the c13

Question, I am constructing a new cab similar to the C13, 48 x 20 x 72, and am wanting to put a 600w with a digital ballast in it. Would it be better to put a 400w with CFL side lighting and either way what cfm fan should I use? I am thinking about going with a 300 plus cfm Squirrel cage fan with a can filter vented under my house with the fan under the house as well. Oh yeh, I will be going the air cooled hood rout and just venting all the air from the cab from the whole cab through the air cooled hood because the ambient temps are in the low 60's to the upper 50's with 2 8' dark room louvers for passive intake. Also, I am doing SOG style and the hood for both the 400w and the 600w is only 20- long so I am a bit consern over the light coverage.

I used to run a c13.

I wouldn't put a 600 in there, a little too hot for the space.

Run a 400w cool tube setup. That blower would work but I have always had better luck with "can fans" (inline).

I ran 12 plants sog under the 400 using a 6" can fan and a 6" small scrubber. Never had problems with the system till I went DWC. The temps were too high for that.

What were your average yields when you got everything diled in? Also, what CFM CanFan were you using?
Thanks, adieu

I saw a really good design that was simple and effective on OG where someone was using a C13 with a 400 HPS. They had a Sun Gro reflector with the cooling vent on the top of the reflector. This person (forgot their SN, sorry) mounted the cooling fan in the middle of the ceiling panel of the cab and had a direct duct from the top of reflector -> duct -> fan -> out of cabinet. It was simple and the straight shot with the air means th person didnt lose much CFM's from the fan ducting being all sideways, etc. I think this person had a carbon scrubber connected to the fan outside of the cab for the smell. Just an idea, hope it helps.

The described cabinet was 48in wide which would make it more similar to the C24/22. Yes you can put a 600 in there especially with your ambient temps. Maybe try two 400s if you want also.

I have a 600w in a cab with about the same dimensions. I am running a 465 dayton fan and it keeps it very cool in there.

Peace
