fail safe system?

possible to design a fail safe system that when a red laser (uno the ones in the films lol) is tripped, lets say petrol is sprayed on the plants in a metal container(grow area), that ignites and burns the innards but not the surrounding area? perhaps even having a fan venting the fumes from the fire?

when the police come a knocking, the cubboard gets on fire, they have to radio to the fire department which should take long enough to burn the plants to a crisp

can they still charge you on roots(possession)? doubt that roots contain thc or is general material of the marijuana plant thats illegal

im probably just chatting woffle cakes but would like to hear your views

hey its the pigs lets burn the place down lol...i have dead plant stalks everywhere and grow shit everywhere i couldnt burn it all if i had to...i have found many uses for the stalks though...they are perfect for skewers for the grill...especially when fresh they dont burn

Well it would be easy to create a system like that, but a few flaws in you plan
1. Nothing is fail safe
2. Most of your grow equipment will still be there, charred yes, but hard to mistale a reflector and a ballast for anything else.
3. You would probably receive an Arson charge on top

Probably not...

They could charge you for having a flaming fire hazard in your house though; I'm not too sure on that one.

However, the use of a tripping mechanism to create a fire could be interpreted by the legal system as some sort of bomb. That opens up the idea that you had planted a bomb to go off upon the officer's entry, which I'm guessing is also illegal; not too sure about that one either. It just sounds like something they would say, you know how these litigators can twist words...

lol damn bugs. if they aren't eating your shit, they're burning it down.

anyway, it's like Dr. Dog says, some shit that won't burn so you're caught anyway. most likely, they'll charge you for full plants if they find the roots anyway. burned-to-ash plants won't negate the crime committed.

I have thought about this before aswell...my plan was very similar, but have some gunpowder near by, not to explode, but to melt the metal parts of the setup....

Hell i dont even think you would need gunpowder, I want to say lots of metals like aluminum powder ignite/burn at very high temperatures...

I figure if you can burn the plants and roots and the ballasts, you would be okay, minus the arrson charge.

Haven't you guys ever been camping? A soda/beer can, will melt in a hot fire no problem.

I was not going to have the laser device though, just a simple "tug really hard" cord, or a long fuse.

Well I have seen enough CSI episodes to know that they can find petrol long after the fire, and even trace it to a gas company, Ie Shell, Mobil

I would suspect the most fail safe method would be, don't get yourself in a situation where the cops are snooping around your house

i saw some movie, i can't remember the name. but the guy was like a hacker or something. he rented the apartment above and below his own. when they came looking for him, he rigged his apartment to catch fire but in a specific way such that only certain things would burn like his computer and pictures and so on. i think that's what it was. but that's easier to burn i guess. but i remember when they looked in on it after he slipped thru the hole in the floor and noticed that the walls had fire retardant stuff on it so it would ONLY burn the things he wanted to burn.

maybe it was Seven.. brad pitt and morgan freeman. i can't remember.

If you simply find a spot thats good enough you wont have to worry about protecting it.

Also, how is your Hollywood laser going to tell the difference between a cop and a wild animal?

But lets just say you did go ahead and a cop did find it and did trip your Hollywood laser and lets say that only the inside of your metal container burnt, they're still going to stake the area out and wait for somebody to come and check on the grow

I've thought about this before.. I always considered burning to be way to dangerous. As someone already pointed out.. they would twist your intentions, and say you tried to set off a bomb. The best thing I could think of would be to somehow dump/move your plants into a high powered wood chipper.. that would shred them quickly. Then, you could flush the remains if you had a high volume/power toilet. Maybe some sort of industrial toilet. I've also thought about adding some weak acid, or something to break it down and make it easier to flush lots of material quickly. Obviously it would need to be strong enough to break the very strong, durable plant material down.. but also weak enough to not eat through your pipes. I don't know much about acid or chemical breakdown.. this would need to be researched. And ofcourse I think this whole idea would only work if you had advanced notice of a bust, which is doubtful, or if you had very strong reinforced doors. Even then, they'd probably just come through the window Still interesting to think about though..

I hate to tell you but no none of thats going to matter to a judge/jury. Youre still going to be charged with mfg with intent to sell, then you'll be charged additional felonies like destroying evidence, interfering with an investigation, arson (as already pointed out), endangering law enforcement, etc. Then instead of doing piss tests and probation for your first bust you can look forward to a few years lockup.
