Fail-safe cabinet?

Has anyone ever built a fail-safe cabinet? Fail-safe in the sense that when your security procedures fail, you push a button (or rig an automatic "self-destruct" if someone else tries to open the doors) and you're safe because all evidence of the grow would be destroyed?

I remember discussing this back on OG but never did see such a thing being built. The basic plan was to use chemical means of destroying the plants as a fire would have been too much of a safety risk...

Short of a transmogrifier, transporter or time machine, I think you're asking for trouble. What's it going to do except add extra charges? Destroying evidence, impeding investigations, endangering officers ... I don't see this ending well for the grower.

Hypothetically, if you lined your grow space with concrete board, then put in a refractory brick and/or tile, you could keep a small thermite charge in the grow space so it is focused from top to bottom. It would incinerate things at such a temperature that they would have virtually nothing to recover, and could be built to withstand the short period of intense heat involved.

If you are that worried I would suggest not growing. Not trying to be a grouch but come on my friend.

It's just an interesting and daft idea. Not planning it myself but it would be cool to see.

I have no idea what they could charge you with after they break down your door and find, say, a large steel safe that, when finally opened, looks like a grow cabinet inside but with a reservoir full of hot toxic sludge. How do they prove you grew Cannabis when nothing much larger than a water molecule of the plants remains?

Picture this scenario: you're in your basement, where you have your small grow and a big furnace with a roaring hot fire in it at the moment you hear the authorities at your door. Do you go straight upstairs and let them in or chuck your plants in the fire and put some firewood on top, then go upstairs?

It's a great idea in the abstract. I just don't think you can find a method that's both safe for you and will destroy all evidence. Unless you get all of it, I think it just magnifies the "crime."
