F1 seeds, making a cross (need info)

Hello, I want to cross two different strains. If I understand correctly, I will get "F1" seeds with possibly hybrid vigor with my first cross (lebanese x strawberry). I have heard most seeds will be "dull" as in too uniform and very small variation until you make F2 seeds where the true pheno variation is.

I am looking to make some seeds but only interested in going as far as a simple cross. I was wondering, is it worth it? I am ok if there is almost no variation, but I would like to get phenotypes similar to both parents. I guess it's impossible to know, but for people who have obtained F1 seeds (crossing two unrelated strains), how did it turn out? How similar were the seeds to their parents, how uniform, and most importantly, did you get phenotypes similar to their parents or only similar to the dominant one?

Making your own hybrids and having lots of fresh seeds is addicting.
If you only make F1's the dominant traits will prevail. The stability will
depend a lot on how stable the parents were. Just keep selecting plants
for the traits you like. F2's is where genes segregate and new stuff
unlike parents can sometimes be found

So I wouldn't describe F1s as dull ,yes they are uniform but in a good way .They inherit dominant traits from both parents and sometimes what I call pop- up traits that neither have and of course plenty of vigor .I have made plenty of F1 between unrelated strains and in general they are right in the middle between the two parents .Both parents will have some dominant traits expressed in the F1 .I love F1s it's an easy way to mess around and come up with something really cool quick and to reproduce just keep both strains going and do it again .To produce a true breeding IBL from a F1 cross that's any good requires many selections and generations. The F2 will produce a wide variation of phenotypes with some resembling the parents. If you like one of the parents but don't have a male, keep a clone going and and cross it back to one of the F1s males and then again back to one of the male offspring and repeat .after a few generations you'll get it

So in f1 recessive traits are not expressed, when only from one parent?

Edit: sorry I've asked that before , nvm.
