F landlords!

my fat bastard of a landlord is some nutcase.

first he has stupid ass rules like "dont use the dishwasher, dont park your car on the driveway, dont put your things there, blah blah blah"

Then he complains that we use too much water, so he shuts off the sprinklers, then he complains that i am not watering the lawn enough and that he is gonna charge me for sod!!

today i got an email from him saying that he is gonna start bringing prospective tenants by because the lease is up soon. (3 months awaY!!!!!)

I know for a fact he is gonna get some family member of friend to act as a prospective tenant so that he can search the whole house. what a sneaky rat bastard!

So basically, my grow is getting torn down very soon, luckily my ladies are almost done, but this shit is a major fucking letdown.

I hope my landlord rots in hell for all i care. He acted so nice and polite and once we signed the lease, he turned into some one on a power trip. I have already cussed him out once and sometimes i want to stab him in the jugular.

i hate landlords as well. had to pull my 40 cal on one once. im such a dick to my landlords, they don't ever bother me.

A landlord can't just come along with people to show the house. He has to give you 24 hours notice unless it's an emergency.....

Yeah, I hate em too! Mine lives 10 minutes away, dude and his whole family drive by every freakin day now. They use a property management company, but it's the owners that like to drop by (or used to.) I had a fit last time I came home and saw tire tracks through my field, called the PMC up and chewed their ass but good! No more problems since.

I'm about to be homeless causa my asshole landlord. Apparently he hasn't paid the condo fees on the condo we rent in 3 or 4 years. There's been a lien on our place a year. We had no clue until last week. Now, unless he pays up by tomorrow, thecondo corp is going to sell the place. I can't afford anywhere else right now, I have to find a place like yesterday with no money. Next week I'm supposed to start a job that is 5 mins from here. Now I'll prob ably end up an hour away and my job that was convenient and close to home won't be So, if some of you notice me stressing or think I'm being bitchy....I'm under alot of stress right now. I'm honestly scared and worried

sorry to hear about yall situations, especially you kharma girl, i had a friend who was in your exact situation, landlord couldnt pay the mortgage on the house they were renting, landlords suck!!!

ahhhhh the asshole landlord,,

mine decided to fix my water heater ..:yoinks:

no notice,,

he found my grow and called up his LEO buddies,,

that was the end of my grow..and the beggining of some shittly legal issues

I learned a lesson never grow where ya rent..

when I started house shopping , I knew exactly what I was looking for ..BIG closet with a AC vent in it..:woohoo:

the rest didnt really matter :laughing:

Landlords can do whatever is in the lease you sign.

24 hours notification is not needed.

Change your locks, if you rent.

Damn, sorry to hear about your situations KharmaGirl and Yes4Prop. For the most part landlords do suck a big one. I've been lucky enough to have SUPER easy going and nice landlords (one even found out about my grow and told me "it smells like college in here" up until now......
I had a 6 month lease and a month before the lease was up he said he was going to raise the rent $200/month if we decided to re-lease......so we said F that business. So we signed a letter to move-out, he started showing the house ( I had to tear down my grow 2 weeks before I had planned). Every time he came by he said the house looked like shit, he said I needed to pluck out the little sprigs of grass growing from the cracks in the driveway and sidewalk.........it never seemed to be good enough for the guy. Anyways, it was getting toward the end of the month, he hadn't re-leased and we hadn't found a place yet- so he asked, "what would you be willing to pay to re-lease?" I lowballed the shit out of him and we ended up renting for $100 less than before---- turns out we inadvertently called the greedy bastards bluff..... damn landlords

damn sorry to hear, that sucks. i have heard many situations where homeowners stop paying their mortgages but just pocket the rent, then bounce.

i grilled my landlord about him paying the mortgage and everything, because i was somewhat paranoid that would happen to me as well.

KG I've got a double wide shed anytime you need a pad to crash. The cable is hooked up & I got high definition too right over the air free so those bonesmokers at rogers don't get a dime while watching the hockey games. I was book learning on becoming a lawyer once & I remember a little something about not being able to kick anyone even dead beats out without a fair warning. There can be 3 - 6 months notice depending on the owners shituation, no less including any tenants. The shortest time was if the owner had blood relatives moving in still 3 months notice minimum so unless you've seen some legal stuff about a court case than you're safe. But my sheds there if you need it eH.

one time our landlord came over at 11p.m. on a thursday night to fix the water heater.. we had only met his wife before this.. the fucker doesn't even knock he just opens our door with his key and starts walking downstairs.
my basement was downstairs, so all i here is all this noise and a guy swearing in a italian accent, i jumped out of my room half naked still half asleep with my louisville slugger in my hand and ran at the guy, after like a 5 minute screaming match telling him to get the fuck out of my house he finally got it across to me that he was the landlord.. good thing i didn't have a gun in my room or i would be in jail right now for shooting my landlord..
seriously though, what a stupid fuck.

^what he did was illegal and you could sue him for a nice chunk depending on where you live.

i make it real clear with my landlord that he has to give 24 written notice every time he has intentions to visit the property, and that he cannot come over more than once every few months. at first he tried to come every month to "collect mail", so i started mailing it to him and telling him to leave us alone and respect our privacy. he hadnt been to property in damn near 4 months until this shenanigans happened.

my landlord has been at the grow room door begging us to unlock it. my roommate used some quick thinking and made up some story about the room being full of "embarassing sexual toys" so the landlord got all grossed out and left haha.

I am tempted to dress up in a gorilla suit and hire some strippers the next time he comes over here. if we really freak him out maybe he will leave us the F alone!

KG maybe you could contact the new owners. If they buy it as investment property in this economy they might be glad to have stable tenants.

Some contracts also have a clause that states it's the landlords liability to maintain the houses good standing. You may have cause to put a lein on the house yourself. Some tenancy's also affect the house in that even if sold you as the tenant have the right to stay. Might be worth checking your small print.

my landlord is a housing company thats owned by the city. these ppl dont give a shit as long as i pay the rent.

when i went looking for apartments i had another very nice one too but it was privately owned and the landlord lived in the same house. he liked me very much and said sth along the lines of i could move in right away i would fit really well into the weekly grilling evenings in the garden. needless to say i passed on that one :p
