I used to be like Augustus McCrae; had 20/10 to 20/15 most of my life. Had to get bifocals couple of years ago. I'm a birder so that's been kind of aggravating. O, the halcyon days of birding with the naked eye.

Im almost blind.
On my bad eye I can tell if it's day or night, on my good eye Im down to 35/40% it's terribly limiting. I'm not allowed to drive, can't read normal sized wrighting.

I'll bet you my bifocals are thicker than yours

Don't know who AMcC is, sisu but for about 30 years of my life, I wore contact lenses.. when came the time I needed cheaters to read, I too went to bifocals but they, I agree, were a PITA. Just for the experience, I went back to contact lenses. I now do not need the cheaters to read, my vision is clearer and binoculars are much easer to use....

Isn't that the 2nd thing that goes? j/k I still wake up with lead in my pencil so I guess my eyesight would be the first.

I never could get used to bifocals. Had to get progressive (line-less) lenses.

I think that has to do with that I developed diplopia (double vision) during my military days so they have to place a prism in my lenses for that. And the placement needs to be exactly in front if your iris.

Kinda sucks. Shouldn't those pricks count that as fucking me up? Aren't you supposed to come out the about the same shape you go in? I'm not even close....ASSHOLES.

I'm legally blind in my right eye & I suddenly developed a blind spot in my good left eye, it inhibits my reading and I have to be careful driving because a car can disappear in that blind spot. getting old wasn't supposed to be this much fun.........

go outside everyday and look at shit that's far away. if you can't, close your eyes and remember looking at something far away.

eyes are scientifically proven to wear out 127.3553 times faster doing joyless crap, so just do the happy stuff. and start being careful earlier.
