Extremely odd plant mutation w/pics

Does anyone know the cause for this? could it be a deficency? the leaves are really soft and droopy and only have 1 or 2 ends on each leaf? this is really odd because my system is setup into 4 rows, 7 buckets in each row that connect to their own controlley buckets and the mutated plants are in the same row as healthy plants.. the system is also resirculating

Thanks for any help

What strain is this and could you have possible damaged it's root structure? I have some blue strains that the leaves grow funny on...

It's northern lights and I dont think there has been any serious root damage.. I have broken parts of the roots off on accident " like an inch " i dont think that would be enough to damage it though..

Thanks

Could you have accidently damaged the grow tip when it was just forming? Are these plants from seed or clones? If there're from seed then could just be from some kind of genetic variation.
Man, if they're genetic mutants, breed them suckers.......somebody in another thread wants to make MJ plants that don't look like MJ plants & here's our start, hehehe!! :chin:

The leaf morphology is a bit strange, but i think it should bud just like the other ones..

Am i the only one who thinks that this plant is ok?

Haha, they definetley do not look like bud plants, They are all from clones. I bought the seeds from femaleseeds, vegged them for a month then cut clones. I hope they bud alright because I think I have about 5 of them like that! I don't like how the leaved are really soft and droopy. It just doesn't make sense..

Thanks for the replies

is it reverting from a 5 bladed leaves to single bladed leaves? i've had plants do that when they were flowering and were put back into veg. they went from 5 to 3 then to 1 again before starting over and building back up to 5. hard to tell from the pic.

dont know how a light leak would only get SOME of your plants though lol

two notes... one ive heard "" twisted plants like this produce the best bud... 2nd are blueberrys all look like there retarded they grow sooo gay and ugly (with crazzy leafs that are burnt looking and twisted) its the strain though its sposed look like that, and it produces the best bud ive ever had, I mean to give you a idea.. it really smelt like blueberrys (pankcakes came to mind) and taisted like it.. only thing we fucked up on is we didn't get it blue... (bwhaha) this time we will

i would agree with BruceLeeroy. when plants have not been getting enough hours of light to stay in veg but too much to start flowering properly, they sometimes do that with the fingers specialy when you then put them in a proper veg cycle, they will make less and less finger until they make a few single fingered leaves and then they slowly go back to normal. adding one finger with each new leaf. can it be that your clones wanted to flower? did you make them from flowering plants or did you keep them in a 12/12 cycle for a while before you planted them in this setup?

That may explain it, when I had the mother plants going I had them in veg for about 3 weeks then flower for about 9 days until sex showed then I put them in my bubble cloner under 24/7 hours of light for about 8 days then finally transplanted back to veg in the final system. I have just never seen nothin like it, i'm posting pic updates in my main thread tonight so you can see all the crazy training I did to them

Peace guys thanks for the help

yeah that was definitely it. thats why it sucks to clone from a plant that is flowering, it takes alot more time in the long run to get it back to a normal veg state lol. peace :)

well thats the reason, but it isn't a big problem, your plants will make buds normaly.

next time you want to sex some plants, just cut 1 branch off, put that branch in a cup of water and write which pereant plant it came from on the plastic cup with permanent marker. now stick this cup with the branch somewhere in the 12/12 space. now you just have to wait it might take 2 weeks, but then you'll know the sex of each pereant plant without interupting the veg phase of said perant plants. i just got through uesing this system to sex my SourDieselv3 and BasicDiesel.

So out of curiosity any update on how these turned out from here? did they eventually reveg back to a many bladed leaf?

peace!

I can't be sure, but it seems like a flower-to-veg issue... well it's not really an issue, it will certainly just take some days to recover.

Now I know it ain't the same kind of mutation (this one looks environment-related, not genetic), but while reading this thread, I noticed some people claim that mutated plants are "the best bud you'll ever have"... I had a friend coming back from the Netherlands that told me the same a few weeks ago...

I have never fully grown and harvested such plants myself but I'd like to know, because I have a seedling (from home made crosses) that, since day 1, has been growing in a strange pattern (twisted leaves, etc, but healthy as hell). I must say it is way more vigorous than any other seedling from this season's seeds. Not very tall, but with only 4 nodes it is already branching out quite good, and has very big leaves when compared to the others. I might post some pics if I manage to find a camera during the next few days.

Peace
