Extreme Munchies Zero Paranoia

I have cut my smoking down to a fraction of what it was previously for about a month.

I notice that now I don't usually smoke during the day and only a bit at (most but certainly not all) nights, when I do I am a food destroying whirlwind of fat carbs and flying debris.

I was curiously pondering the last time I had a break or even a reduction in my cannabis consumption when I thought that was possibly the reason for the extreme munchies.

I recalled people always saying they "quit" cannabis because they began to get paranoid. I did experience that after a two or three month break over a dozen years ago.

I am not paranoid in the slightest. I am eating everything that doesn't move fast.

What gives?

Other pertinent facts:

1: I always stuff my face at a normal fat pace. This is beyond that.

2: I just ate hot pickles and cottage cheese and loved it. I hate pickles and haven't enjoyed cottage cheese since junior high.

I suppose it's possible I could be the first pregnant man in history... oh wait no.. you gotta have sex for that to happen :D

I'm stumped.... and going to get ice cream.

Control the munchies or you're going to be one fat bastard. :D Sounds like your tolerance is down, so your blood sugar is dropping lower than it used to, but not low enough to make you paranoid/anxious.

When I hear blood sugar I think Die A Beet Us... just like that guy on the Quaker oats box used to say in those commercials ;)

I'm already one fat bastard :D

I didn't realize blood sugar metabolism was related to cannabis use.

So I should smoke more to save on Ben and Jerry's??

:chin:

That's something to ponder.

If I'm Immaculately knocked up that would still show up on an EPT right??

My munchies were always strain dependent, indica heavy buds being the more munchie inducing.
These days I almost never indulge the smoke induced crave, often preparing food before smoking to only put it away for later after the smoke. Sativa heavy types are the preferred buds in my bowl, this is why I'm pretty sure.

WHen I get more stoned than normal, I get the munchies. After taking a break, new high grade hash, edibles. They all make me get the munchies.

Studies on cannabis have shown lower rates of obesity in users and that it may have a protective effect against type II diabetes, but I recently came across a conflicting study that linked it to an increased rate of type II diabetes. All I know is pot makes my blood sugar fall, and the higher the potency/greater the dose, the greater the effect. Low blood sugar is at least part of the reason for the munchies IMO, and I do get the anxiety effect until I eat something.

i used to get the starvation munchies on mexican dirt weed & the lower grades of Colombian pot, but never have on better grades or the weed these days. read once that the higher % thc pot had, the lower the munchies got. don't know about you folks, but it works that way on me...

I'm going to do some research with a glucose meter.

And possibly buy an EPT.... :D

Definitely different strains and certainly not the caliber I was used to. To answer Weird :)

Consuming cannabis products helps to regulate blood sugar levels.
Wish I had a link to the article I read a couole years ago.
It may be in Granny Storm Crow's list...

Drinking something while smoking helps me avoid the munchies. Tea, flavored seltzer etc.

Ah coooool!

I was going to buy a glucose meter just to test the shit out of myself and learn something.

I have pita chips and cookies surrounding me. Sometimes I eat both and slug milk straight out of the gallon.

And yes, must be the strain!

One time I got so high on shark's breath with me and a friend that we both had panic attacks for about 5 minutes and then we were like "taco bell!"

Then the anxiousness subsided.

Yup it's your lowered consumption of cannabis that is making your tolerance lower and the drug more effective. I know this for a fact. It's more effective for me when I smoke less. The more I smoke, the more I smoke it seems.

Wait a minute I still don't know if it's the strain you smoked, or your smoke break that caused this! Hmm. I agree both can affect it, but in your case I can't decide.

Have you switched up strains also?

I also find cannabis helps greatly when I have an upset tummy. We're still learning about all of the uses and benefits (and harm, everything positive also has negatives) of our miraculous plants.

I devoured four pickled eggs and a bag of wasabi peas last night after smoking some mixed sift from four different plants.

You must focus and discipline the mind. It also helps to eat a good diet with proper nutrition and don't go long periods without eating. Grapefruits can help stabilize blood sugar. Drink water often. I like to smoke after a high protein and moderate fat/carb meal.
