Extra seeds in Ace packs (landraces)?

I recently purchase a 5pk of regular Laos Luang Prabang sativa via Attitude seed-bank. Unfortunately they didn't ship in an authentic breeder pack just a labelled clear baggy with a bit of cardboard from the breeder pack or a catalog. To my shock I found seven instead of the expected five seeds. I was just wondering if Ace ever adds a few bonus seeds in their packs or maybe the Attitude messed up and put a couple of extra freebies in that pack by mistake. I know it'll be pretty easy to pick out landrace Laos Sativas once they're growing but would like to have some kind of idea before hand.
Thanks

Any regular (ie. non-fem) seeds I've ordered direct from Ace have come with extra seeds. The packs of 5 came with what ar first looked like 7 seeds but on closer inspection turned out to be 6 seeds and a little ball of silica dessicant! The packs of 10 had 12 seeds included. A nice touch in my opinion. Ace are truly ace.

Well that's a relief. I thought the 'tude had done goofed up my order lol. Yeah there's also one piece of silica desiccant in their too but definitely 7 seeds total. Not sure why I got an extra one though. I guess I'm just special :) Well that's what my Mom always says.

I asked Luis about this - the reason they put 6 in the fems and 12 in the regs is in case one doesn't germinate properly.
It is a very nice touch from a really nice company. To be honest, germination isn't an issue with Ace, so it's bonus seeds, result.
Also, last order I made direct from them, they included 17 free seeds, I was quite pleased.

Yes it's a very nice touch you don't often see amongst other Breeders if at all. Bravo to Ace seeds!

I've also purchased from Attitude and received 6 seeds of each strain. I have a feeling Attitude seeds tend to sit on the shelf longer then Ace seeds on other sites. I think this because they still offer some strains that are sold out everywhere else. So the 6 seeds is a good idea. I popped 2 full packs of 6 seeds so far and 5 germed from each pack so looks like it's working as intended.

I've noticed Mandala seeds have a harvest or packaging date (month&year) on their packs. It would been nice if other breeders did the same for the customers peace of mind. I guess the re-sellers would probably just remove them from their breeder packs anyway so you couldn't tell.

Ace do have a date of harvest for the seeds when bought direct from them. If they have been taken out of the packaging by the seedbank then the date will be unknown.

It's a big problem with those re-sellers since they won't guarantee your delivery unless you check the removed breeder pack option. I'd love to order direct from the breeder but unfortunately laws in my country prohibit that from happening.

Well my kudos goes out to the gang at Ace for taking that initiative too. I was lucky enough to get some breeder packs from other breeders and I know not all are doing this.

It's a bit of a swings and roundabouts thing - you pay for the super stealthy packaging and that means losing the breeder packs, or you take the risk with non stealthy post.
Some seedbanks will include the original breeder packaging but what's the point if you have gone for the stealthy post option?
You might not get so many freebies direct from the breeder (although Ace hand out at least 10 for a certain spend) but you might know the dates of the seeds to work out viability.

last order direct from ace was well under $200 and i received a 3 pack of zamal x hash as a total extra. last i contacted em for out of stock beans i was offered a few packs from their vault!!! sadly i didn't have the coin at the time. i won't hesitate buying from them "direct".

It's (the repackaging thing) just massively open to abuse. A pack of 6 will magically become a 5 pack, I doubt the Ace regs with 12 in always remain at that number.
It's just another middle man taking his cut, how are we to know what storage conditions are etc.?

Not sure about the three packs but when the Zamaldellica F1s ran out Dubi dug a pack out of the vault for me and it came with 12 seeds, and a bonus pack of 3 NepJam regulars.

I really want their Malawi, and Panama breeders packs.

Awesome service!

I guess the point is trust. How do I know I'm really getting what I paid for? Besides removing the seeds from the breeder pack does little to increase the overall stealthiness of the package.

Only 5 seeds in my pack of Back To The Congo. No complaints from me though, I mean that's what I paid for... I imagine it's because they really are very limited seeds.
