Extra 400HPS, Lying around.

Didn't really know where to ask this, but anyways, I got an extra 400HPS that i'm not sure I should use. Its ballast is nailed to a peice of wood and everything's intact, works fine but pretty old so it scares the hell out of me. Now i have ran this once before, through the a full flowering cycle. The bulb is really really old, and i probably won't be getting a new one. Is this peice of shit worth using?

Oh yeah I could really use the light, flowering under a 400MH.

if it fires the bulb it should be ok, aslong as theres no dodgy smells or realy excessive heat coming off of it.

youll probably need a new bulb...

i was gonna say the same thing as Cork144. Run the bulb and ballast for 24 hours just to stress test it. If it's not smelly or you don't sense any extra heat coming from it, id invest in a new 400hps and get crankin out those lumens!
