Extended Border Patrol - do they body search

By 'extended border' I'm talking about the 100 mile interior zone around the US, not directly at a border crossing.

Has anyone ever had their body searched for contraband at one of these 'extended' border patrol checkpoints? I understand they can have K9 sniff your car and search it if the dog signals a hit. But do they go any further than that if they find nothing in the vehicle... meaning do they search your body?

I haven't been able to find any mention of someone actually being strip searched or asked to disrobe, only one guy who was patted down after the officer asked if he could search for weapons.

Thoughts, comments?

First time I went through one, was carrying... just about shit my pants.

But no, nothing invasive... just a visual look, pretty quick. That was a few years ago, so couldn't say recently...???

Quick lookover if you dont look suspicous. We passed a guy on the way home though that was having his door panels taken off. This was probably 2 months ago about 25 miles from the Brownsville border crossing in Texas.

Unfortunately, the area I'm talking about frequently will stop traffic and run dogs up & down the line of vehicles (checking every car).

I'm just assuming that there is no way to fool the dogs, so lets say I was indeed flagged for a secondary search of the vehicle... if nothing is found there, do they do a body search?

Also, I'm talking about a tiny amount... < 1 gram.

I dunno, but a full body cavity search seems a bit extreme... would require some pretty special circumstances... it's not like they would enjoy the process either, ya know?

The standard border crossing method is to compress 2-5gr in a vice or with pliers into something about the size of a 00 pill case and then wrap it in saran wrap. You put this up in your mouth, against your teeth, when you approach the border and flatten it in there like a chew.

You should practice beforehand holding and talking a few questions in the mirror to get your speech smooth and not sound like you are talking through marbles.

This is the only 100% safe way I carry across borders, airports, etc and should things go really south you can just swallow it down and you are safe and shortly will be very happy. Carry a water bottle with you if swallowing a pill is a problem for you.

Largest I ever had was ~8gr up there during a crossing on the way to see Pink Floyd.... The only time I almost shit myself was when the two K-9 guys/dogs with submachine guns came up behind me at the airport...and just walked by....

Remember, don't be greedy, take just a bit as there will either be more where you are going and some left behind when you get back home.

Well I' made the trip... safely.

I went through 7 checkpoints ... 4 there and 3 on the way back. 3 of the checkpoints had signs mentioning 'dogs working' but only one had actual dogs sniffing the cars. It was 105+ degrees out and the poor pup looked like it didn't give a damn about drugs, dead bodies , bombs or anything other than shade & water. This was on the final checkpoint on the way home, fortunately we finished everything I brought for this trip the night before.

icred... thanks for the tips. It makes perfect sense.
