Experienced Growers-School Me on Bubba & OG Kush and a few other strains

Hey everyone!

This is my first post here on ICmag, I was an Overgrow junkie for a while, but Im not a huge poster. Anyhoo, I have been wondering about these Kush strains. I havent read much about them but it seems that the folks that are "in the know" love them. So tell me:

Whats all the hype about? The taste? smell? potency?

Whats the history of these strains?

Are they available in clone only? I see reeferman has BubbaKush S1. Is this the real thing and worth the money?


And, what are some other strains that ARE available in seed form that are both a joy to grow and STRONG. My interests dont really lay in smell or taste. I have heard great things about Neville's Haze, C99, and Ducksfoot. Please just chime in and help me out with your comments and if you make a suggestion please list the seed source so I dont have to track it down. Thanks!

Hey there,
There's alot of threads about these 2 Kushes if you search. Most of them have turned to an off topic debate of 'OG Kush is the best' or 'Bubba's the best' moving towards the 'Who got the real deal clone' etc.
Yes they are available clone only but there are S1 seeds floating about. Reeferman's Bubba Kush S1 seeds are the Classic Clone Company's remaining stock and I've heard that they are quite good. The 'mint' pheno of Bubba Kush was found in those seeds I think.
I only have some experience with the Cali Kush Company's Bubba Kush S1 (Orgnkid) and they are quite good if searching for a good pheno is your thing.
I found a sweet female on my 1 seed experiment and the 3 I'm growing out now are different to the first. 2 smell like... grass/lawn and 1 that smells like the female I first grew out but is a male.
I got a couple seeds left, looking for a female that has that sweet kind of smell so that I can make some seed.

Haven't smoke the clone versions of them but my BKS1 had nice flavour but lacked in the high, should've kept a clone to see if the power would of come out.

Thanks for the reply bro. That's always the dilemma, grow them all out and see what u have, or only grow a few and risk wasting time on males or throw-aways. I have heard so much about these strains that I figure there must be something to it.

I love both the Bubba-OGK and their reputations are well deserved. Alot of factors contribute to the hype. Limited availability of these strains as well as their mysterious origins play a big part but imo their effects and wonderful banquets are what makes them so highly sought after.
Seems like most strains these days get you nice and high but many are generic type of highs without much depth whether it be indica or sativa. What sets some of these clone only strains apart is their multi layered effects.
Take Bubba for example, grows like a pure indica(green pheno) so you'd expect a strong couch lock effect, right? Well in addition to the strong body stone Bubba has one of the best euphoric head highs around, the stuff just makes you happy whenever you smoke it. Throw in that crazy coffee flavor & its no small wonder why everyone loves the Bubba.

Nevilles Haze doesn't fall into the joy to grow category at all lol. It is some of the best herb you can grow if your into that super racy, heart pumping, thought provoking, paranoia inducing, high anxiety, keep peeking out the blinds like a ice junkie because the cops are coming to get me type of high. C99 is little overrated imo, like blueberry it tends to come out better when its crossed.

Try researching a few of these, see if they spark your interest.

Will do bro. Any thoughts on some who has the best Neville's Haze seeds (paranoia inducing has its place for me LOL) and who has good Kush seeds? If not, where can the clones be obtained?

I selfed the purple BK I found in the pack of Cali Kush. Still 5 seeds left. Have found a very lanky difficult to keep minty pheno (looks like te OG) as well - more uphigh. The purple BK I found tends to produce 1-2 bananas. I pulled them out and pollinated a clone. Maybe I'll get a handfull of selfed purple ones . The purple pheno has a nasty stinking dead aninimal, dungeon armpit smell, yuck!
Last time all was perfect and the BK had 64 days - top notch stupid grin couchlock.
