Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these guys. I live in Denmark and i really need 3 SunSystem SuperSun hoods, and the only place that i could find that would ship to EU for a reasonable price is hydrowholesale.com.

Also i would like to know if i can cut off the plug thats mounted on the chord and mount it to my ballast?

The ballasts we use here has to be hardwired to the hood. No plugs.

Then get the female receptacle for sun systems ballast and hardwire that to the ballast that's what I did for my ballast kits, didn't want to cut the cord ends off incase I sold the hoods or when i upgrade ballast to digital. The female part is like $6 dollars so it shouldn't break the bank.
Plus it makes setup easy when you just plug and play, make sure everything fits right you don't want any arcing, happened to me once when i bought a conversion plug, for a xtrasun ballast to sun light supply.

Hope that helps.

Although this is a bit late I just had a nightmare of an experience with Hydrowholesale. They shipped me a blown EYE Hortilux BLUE metal halide 1000 watt lamp. When I opened the Hortilux box the first thing I noticed was the core was coated with a white film. Then upon further inspection I saw what used to be the filament rolling around as two tiny tungsten balls because it had been FRIED! I called Hortilux first and got some facts straight and then called Hydrowholesale. They said they inspect all their products before shipping. Well, that meant they knew they sent me this fried piece of crap and were trying to stick me with it. I got them to send me a return shipping label and Cory at H.W. said he'd issue a refund once UPS picked it up.

No such luck. Now he says he's waiting to "look" at the bulb. I got news for him. Come tomorrow I'm starting my campaign against their questionable business practices if I don't see a refund bright and early.

I almost bought something fro them once, luckily I read a few reviews first. They have many unhappy customers out there.

I'm still waiting for their bank to deposit my refund in my bank account. Colin is a real nice guy but I'm still waiting. I'll give them one more day of waiting for my refund to be deposited in my account before I call them back. Colin was actually nice about it. But I didn't appreciate receiving a top of the line bulb that was obviously blown and dead in the first place. C'mon, what type of person does that? There warehouse people just don't give a shit about who gets what.

When I buy a Hortilux Blue metal halide that's what I expect, not some dead P.O.S!

Bottom line with Hydrowholesale: :moon: :moon: :moon: :moon: I talked to them and found out that Colin (sales associate) LIED about issuing my refund for $139.95 over a week ago! He's a straight-faced liar. I had to call him when I noticed that my account on their site was showing some refund activity that began YESTERDAY, WED. OCT. 16, 13! Freaking liars!

Don't even bother with this shop. Their lamps are burned out, they don't give a damn about their customers and you can find much better customer service from almost anywhere else. Try Greentrees Hydroponics for good prices and good customer service.

There is one other shop that blatantly ripped me off last year: Maryland Hydroponics. They charged $209.75 to my debit card 13 minutes after I left their store in East Falls Church, VA. last Augusts 5th, 2012.

It took 7 months to get my money back but I DID get my $$$ back :woohoo: after going to the Dept. of Commerce Consumer Protection Division.

I have to make a confession: I was wrong, totally wrong :hide: about the EYE Hortilux BLUE Metal Halide 1000 watt lamp I got from Hydrowholesale. It was NOT fried, although they appear to be shorted-out, that's the way they're made. Having just heard from support at EYE Hortilux :jawdrop: I knew I had to make this rectraction.

If I can criticize a business then I damned well better be able to admit when I'm wrong! Honesty is essential for us people with BIG mouths.

The mercury ball inside the Arc Tube of the Hortilux Blue M.H. lamps is part of a chemical "dose" so the lamp can radiate it's signature Spectral Distribution. The white coating on the inside of the Arc Tube is also supposed to be there. Although it looks more like the residue from a lamp explosion. It too has something to do with the dose needed for the Arc Tube.

So if you happen to be buying a Hortilux 'Blue' Metal Halide expect this surprise and screw it in your reflector anyway.
