Bought a 10,000 BTU Whynter SNO portable AC. Is it really necessary or desirable to exhaust this outside the growspace? Never worked with these things before....
definitely want to exh out the room, out the window is best as the air it exhausts is real warm and it would be completely counterproductive to let the thing just sit there and let all that in your room, it needs to go somewhere, hth
It would be wise...especially if it's a single hose portable since they exhaust alot of "dirty" air out the hose. Dual hose systems are better about it, but they're not 100% sealed.
Exhaust into the attic if you can,I didnt use any kind of scrubber just a vaportronic. You dont want to vent out the window though, that would be pushing it lol.It has to go somewhere,it cant go into the room you're airconditioning
No usable attic in my rental. My choices are limited to venting into my kitchen and venting out a window with the help of an inline scrubber. Obviously, I'll be much better going out a window, but this won't be possible until I've finished this grow and can relocate into another part of the house... So, I'm in a bit of a pickle and have some thinking to do.
If you're dumping the air out the window you might wanna consider an O3 generator...should be plenty adequate.
Are there any nameplates you can check to find out the details of the fan? Maybe at least the power consumtion or a model number on the fan to try to approximate the CFM?
If it is a dual hose portable AC, you can draw from outside the room into a fan and then push the air into the AC. That will create positive clean air pressure on the AC and no stink will be exhausted.
Just an idea,

Maybe thats why I never smelt anything from my attic,I had the intake hose through the wall to the adjacent room but for the reason of co2 enrichment.Didnt work anyway, dont use any kind of portable with co2 enrichment if you plan on keeping it in the room
with a single hose unit sorry but the answer is no. The only way is to turn it off when you flood the room with the gas if you are using cycles but if you run continuous it is impossible.

how about the dual hose models though? you would think that if there is a leak somewhere , it could be sealed by opening up the unit. Unfortunately, I dont have one to try it out...
