Ex-governor named pot company CEO

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson has been named the CEO of a Nevada-based company that hopes to make medical and recreational marijuana products.

Johnson said Tuesday he was recently named CEO and president of Cannabis Sativa, Inc., and intends to work out of New Mexico to help develop products that are legal in states like Colorado and Washington.

The former Libertarian presidential candidate says the company will make marijuana-based oils aimed at helping children with epilepsy. He also says it will make cough drop-like products for recreational use.

In addition, of Cannabis Sativa announced Tuesday it has acquired marijuana research company Kush and named that company's founder, Steve Kubby, as its chairman.

Kubby was the 1998 Libertarian Party nominee for California governor.

I voted for him in 2012. It's a shame they locked him out of the presidential debates. I don't know if he would have won, but he would have gotten more than 1% of the vote if people had heard of him and knew where he stood on the issues.

This company sounds interesting. I wonder if we'll see their products here in California.

Not sure we want politicians in charge of legal or medical cannabis. This sounds like bad news to me.

Gary Johnson has been supporting cannabis since he was governor. He's pretty cool, having switched from Republican to Liberterian. Kubby is cool too. And the demand for the epilepsy medicine (esp. for kids) is skyrocketing as even conservative states legalize it for that.

The oil for kids they make will be high cbd, low thc.
While the recreational drops will probably be the opposite.

This is going to be BIG, with many other companies coming online to do the same.

I voted for Gary myself. if fewer people would say "fuck him, he's a damned politician" & say instead "this guy is on our side!" & VOTE for him, maybe we could elect a politician that would HELP us. how many people run for office that are NOT politicians? are you waiting for God to come down to earth & decree "LET IT BE LEGAL!" ? you gotta use the tools that are in the fucking tool box, is all I'm saying...
