Every cloud does have a silver lining

With the economy sliding downhill on a daily basis there is at least one good side for growers!

CNN.COM (Police face cuts as economy falters)

While this may not reduce the number of actual cops on the beat and dealing with hard crime it should at least trim some of the fat that has nothing better to do than mess with a people growing a "harmless" plant.

SN

Note: quotes around harmless just because I personally feel that it can certainly have negative effects, certainly has many positive ones too though. This opinion aside, its a plant that has high weight required for serious penalties (when compared to other harder, higher schedule drugs)

True, although imagine the congestion late night when all the drive thru's have lines hundreds of cars long because now EVERYONE has the munchies :muahaha:

Sure to cause at least one car wreck :rasta:

well if fuel gets high enough we might see less choppers in the air.

man i love high gas prices.

i remember reading it being somewhere around $500 an hour to operate a leo chopper (personell, fuel) I have absolutely no idea if this is anywhere close to correct though so dont hate if I sound retarded :bashhead:

Yup, no way is it just 500 an hour to operate a chopper.

The fuel to run a helicopter is very expensive, plus you have a few guys in the cockpit, a spotter, a grounds crew, etc., etc., etc. and its very pricey for them. Which is a good thing for us.

This is something I have discussed many times the past month or more with many people in many areas.........

Funding being pulled or cut left and right...States/Metro's experiencing serious budget issues, etc......

I think next season may possibly be more favorable to people than it has in a long time...

Cost Estimate:

Projected operating costs are based on the number of hours flown annually. At this time a reasonable best case projection would be 1,000 flight hours per year. A typical estimated cost for the first year of a five year project operating an Enstrom F28F-P based on current values is:

Helicopter (Lease/Purchase): $67,000

Aircraft Delivery: $3,500

Crew Safety Equipment & Supplies: $3,000

Pilot Training: $2,200

Hanger Rental @ $500 Mo.: $6,000

Insurance: $27,000

Subtotal: $108,700

Direct Operating Expense @ $62 per flight hour for the first year of operation.*

Subtotal: $62,000

Total Aircraft Related Cost: $170,700

Personnel Costs: (Reallocation of an existing position)

Police Sergeant - Full Time: $81,000

Total First Year Cost: $251,700

* This is a factory provided figure which includes fuel and oil, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, reserve for spare parts, and reserve for scheduled retirement items.

Thats $250,000/$1,000 so approximately $250/hour BEST CASE SCENARIO

this could also mean leo becoming more corrupt in order to find that loot they are going to miss due to budget cuts...
