Everlasting Pitbull Propaganda (rant)

hey thanks wiimote! my wife hates it when people are stand-offish with the dog in public because she knows it will put me into 'public education mode'. I give more goddamn speeches on a 2 hour trip to the farmers market than your average presidential candidate does in a month. I break out all the facts, let all the kids pet him, roll him over so everyone can scratch his belly, next time i'm bringing his baby pictures too! It's funny, he is the laziest dog I have ever had but at the same time, the most alert, aware and intelligent dog I have ever seen. He sees everything that goes on around him, takes it all in and never makes a sound. He's barked maybe 10 times in the last 14 months if that. I know what would happen if we ever had a burglar, poor guy would'nt even see or hear what's coming until it was way too late. Unless he's got a goddamned steak with him, then i'm going to get robbed blind! I really want to get one of the full size english mastiffs but mrs nuck will need a little more convincing. She really wants to get an english bully but with all the health problems and our huge swing in climate every year (-40 to +35) I would prefer to get an american.

edit - Gorgeous dogs oldfamilyred! I wish those guys were'nt banned up here, I have'nt seen one inside the city in well over 10 years.

my american bulldog/pittbull is a big boy ,but full of fun and mischief. good natured ,but gets jealous of the attention i give my plants, he pulled one up last week, i caught him shaking it in the garden,luckily it was a male .
he
's generally good with people ,but he will hassle drunks.

dogs r just the same as ppl in that some can be good some can be bad, all are affected and shaped by their enviroment, and very few, a tiny tiny proportion might be just plain bad, all banning does is send things underground.... into the hands of lesser folks generally and so then bad breeding practices occurr.... if you were the result of several genrations of incestous relationships you mioght be prone to violence too lol

IM SAYING THE PROPOGANDA ABOUT PITTS IS CORRECT there killers they kill people they kill dogs. Its all over the place its no secret my grandmas poodle was sittting in the front doorway of here house in california and a pit bull was roaming around came over and bit the poodles neck killing it.


The propoganda is correct even if you have a big ol goofy pit who would not bite a fly. The propoganada is correct even if your pit bulls sleeps with your new baby. Are you telling me you dont see dog attacks by pitts on the news?


I dont have a pitt so I guess im the only one who can think free without the affection/loyality to the dog coming into play when deciding if its right to label a dog as a dangerous animal!!!!! So is any animal dangerous?

man, chihuaha attacks arent to superb to view on the news,,,,but far mre attack than bullies, same with labs, dalmations, etc... if youre into spreading the legitness of propaganda, pick on Dalmations, they are notorious children and face biters,,,,,,but they werent bred for it? hmmmmmm.....all dogs are predators, but bullies were not bred to attack humans, or anything else.......they have been, but original intent is unknown, as all the people who started these breeds are long gone,,,,,,cant hate the dog for having strengths,,,,,,my pit, and many others as well can climb any tree 100% vertical, and they werent bred for that......feel me.?

I'm really torn on the issue of pitties.......

On one hand I know several friends who've owned pitbulls that were just loving pets, one of them Ziggy owned 'Joe' (full blooded, brindle) and he was such a lover that he'd come lick up on us constantly (we slapped or kicked at him to chase him off), he even licked his housemate labrador 'Sparky' so much that the lab would snarl & snap @ Joe to turn him away....... that pitbull never once showed his teeth or displayed ANY kind of aggression to man or dog. I wonder yet today if he even would've defended his owner had the need arisen. Another friend was the Pres. of the NYS Pitbull Assoc. which met in the Kingston NY area I believe. Rick owned 5 or 6 pitties over the years I knew him. All were awesomely behaved family pets as well as show dogs in the pitbull circuit. No troubles that I'd everheard of.

On the other hand was the TV story I saw in the early 80s. A pitbull owner was bragging up how safe his dogs (he had two) were and that his kids (two kids too) were even safe amongst them. They protected the yard and children with 'loyalty' was his claim. About 18 months later there was another story aired, an update of sorts actually. It seems that the kids were playing in the yard when one of the girls stepped on the tail of one of the pitbulls. The one dog attacked the girl which triggered the 2nd dog to attack too, he was able to rescue his girl somehow & he killed both dogs within minutes. His daughter disfigured for life with 180+ stitches in the face/head he decided to go on camera one last time to have his final say on pitbulls. He sounded like a victim ranting, not an owner or previous pittie owner, he knew those dogs to be 'kiddie safe' for years when the attack ocurred. I sympathized deeply, imagine having a loved one turn on you for blood....... poor kid will likely never be able to pet a dog again.
