I was just pondering how citizeship in the EU worked and from what I have if you are a citizen in any EU country you are considered a citizen throughout the EU, is this right? I was only wondering because it would probably be a piece of cake for me to become a citizen of Ireland and was curious since Ireland is a EU member wouldn't I be considered a EU citizen and be able to become a resident of any country in the EU, like say Holland :yummy: is this right or am I just tioo stoned :joint:

damn you're serious, and I thought it was too good to be true, I better start getting the paperwork so I can become an Irish citizen, at some point I think I'd like to live a few years in Europe :chin:

I heard things are different now than before [ 2001 amendment ] but you wont need to renounce your US citizenship because Ireland allows dual citizenships. Last time I checked their income taxes were a bit more than US ones. Be prepared to have lots of documentation of parents, grandparents and all your application ducks in a row. Heres your best starting link to get you going. Slainte !
