estimating yeild for 624watt t5 sog

hi all

I am starting up a new grow shortly. Because of limited headroom available 3-4ft i have decided a hid is out of the question. My floor plan is 4ft x 2.5ft. I am going to be transplanting rooted clones from my veg room to the flower room in 6inch pots for a total of 32 clones. lights in the flower chamber will be 16 x 39watt t5 fluorescent tubes (mixed spectrums). Growing medium will be soil with possibly organic nutrients?(input). For strain im either going with standard nl or possibly sensi star(have read does well in a sog). Will probably only be able to veg for about 1 - 2 weeks before 12/12 due to limited height. I am not asking what i will definitely yeild just wondering on a ballpark figure from you guys. Is 0.5gpw realistic with t5's? Is more realistic/doable? Anyone have any input on my strain choice? Sorry to be asking so many questions but I have done quite an amount of research and am now looking to put my mind at ease with some specific questions.

I am also considering going coco on this grow, but have never grown with it before and am unsure if its as forgiving as soil also unsure if it will make a big difference on yeild. Thanks for any help you guys can give, hopefully iv posted in the right forum.

Sorry one last question, will a 420m3/hour outake fan through a scrubber be enoughventilation for my proposed lighting setup? I live in a fairly cold climate that only gets moderatly warm in summer.

this sounds almost exactly what im planning to do. i have the same floor space and want to do a coco sog also.

im still a little unsure of what light to choose. at first i though a 4 tube t5 would be enough for this space, but now im thinking maybe a 6 tube would achieve much better coverage. you say 16 tubes? that sound like alot to me, can you point me towards the fixture your going to use?

i'm using an 8 bulb 4ft t5 for that area, and a 140cfm fan.

also planning to do a 32 plant sog, organic soil. hehe.

0.5 gpw is easily doable with my 16 bulb t8 rack. IMHO, i think you'd have no problem getting .75 gpw.

thanks for the response, onthat level how many watts are you running for your 16 tubes and what is you watts per square foot? what strains are you using? 0.75gpw sounds good though i will be happy with 0.5 on the first run.

after the ballast factor, i think it turns out to be ~450 watts. my cab is 2' x 4'....so its about ~50 wpsf. it gets vented with a ~170 cfm inline fan. i do believe that your t5s will run hotter than t8s, tho. i've gotten .5gw from my last grow which was a clusterfuck of diesels. some weres lst'ed and some grown straight 12/12 from seed. it'd be much easier to get great grams/watt goin with ur higher plant numbers and consistent clones. good luck to ya for sure!!

and you cant beat organic soil, go with that.
