I just got a bag of this and was wondering how your using this. Top dress, mix in soil, or disolve in water. I was looking for more K. Here is a link http://www.espoma.com/content.aspx?type=ep

Currently use a peat base mix, with lime (2Tbl/Gal) and perlite.
PBP G / B (Veg/early flower)
Jamacain Bat (late Flower)
Mollases
I dont wont to overdo the Mg, and perfer not to use ammendments in soil

I've used EPSOM Plus. It's not organic, but it seemed to work to correct a deficiency at the time. I have been known to mix it in my soil as well at a rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon. Didn't hurt, dont know if it helped either. PBP is pretty well rounded, it might be enough. Better to let your girls know if they need anything before adding anything. Simpler is usually better, less is more, etc.

I haven't used it in months though.

According to this plus the list above it should be organic IMHO,
i was a little iffy because I know it is restricted in commercial organics, this is a derivative which seijng as they have an organic labeling should be ok, then again you use PBP which isn't 100% kosher oragnics to begin with but makes for a stella r grow and I've been there and done that with alot of success.

Probably the best way to use it is to top dress it and water normally with a microbial tea to get it broken down.

I would expect that using the rate they recommend for roses would be fine for a fert hog like MJ, it's about 1-2 tsp which i would work lightly into the topsoil then water using a tea.

Maybe I should start a top dress thread.lol. I think I might aim for a lite feeding, 1 teaspoon about a week before flower and one mid way. I know I should feed accordingly, but just as a base schedule, along with Jam bat quano top dressed at 2 Tbl, weeks into flo but going to do the rest, just did it 2 days ago, probably too much bat, we'll see.

don't worry, the guano will be fine, topdressing means the don't get it all at once so it's harder to burn unless you go overboard, if they do burn then scrape the topsoil slightly and water heavily.

i'm still not sure it's water sluble, i check it out after dinner.

Thank you sub's, reason I don't won't to mix it in the peat is that I always got bugs, I'm thinking of trying top dressing, with a lite molasses and PBP regiment. I might try blood meal in late veg/early bloom.

Where do the bugs come from, i'm sure a talented grower such as yourself won't be beat by bugs will you lol.

Besides when ou start your road down the ammended soil mixes you will never look back, a rich starter soil is the backbone of any fert program,at least get alot of castings in there.

I'll get you one ammendment at a time.

No clue about the bugs, guess the soil sitting is easy for them?? I'll give it a shot have not seen and fugus gnats in awhile, thanks sub's

Sometimes sulfate of potash magnesia is called K-mag for short.

http://www.kmag.com/index.htm

What is K-Mag?
K-Mag brand of fertilizer, langbeinite, potassium magnesium sulfate, and double sulfate of potash and magnesium all refer to the unique 3-in-1 combination of highly available sulfur, potassium and magnesium source. Present in the water-soluble sulfate form, these three plant nutrients are essential for plant growth and are vital to profitable crop production.

Where does K-Mag come from?
K-Mag is mined and processed near Carlsbad, New Mexico, from the world's largest and purest deposits of langbeinite ore. Langbeinite, an evaporite mineral, is one of the most soluble salts in the ocean. Millions of years ago, in part of what was an isolated lake of ocean water, langbeinite was one of the last minerals to be precipitated as the water evaporated over time. As a result, ore beds are now located about 1,000 feet below the earth's surface.

Can K-Mag be used in certified organic crop production?
K-Mag Granular is readily accepted by most certified organic crop organizations as an acceptable product since it is a naturally-occurring mineral and is mined and processed without chemical alteration. California is one of several states with strictly enforced certification organizations; and K-Mag Granular has been designated as acceptable in that state. Other state organizations without certifying agencies follow the designation by California.

Sweet looks like we just found a way to bump the K up dramatically, good post S

Bostrom there's your answer it's soluble so it would work in a watering.

Isn't that the same as Sul-po-mag? Yes it is. Both are OMRI listed also. Is the K-Mag a premium? compared to the others?

I use Espomas Plant-Tone, Garden Lime, and Gypsum. I thought about getting the Epsom Plus but I got some Maxi-Crop instead.
