equipment needed to exhaust heat from 4 lights?

whats up guys. i have 2 grow room areas in my house. one is on the top floor attic and one is a floor below in a bedroom. the way the house was built you cant see a window ac coming out of the window in the attic so i feel real safe running it during cold weather. the bedroom is a different story though right outside the window is a neighbors driveway plus theres a house kinda close to it. i have an ac in the window currently but im thinking its a smart move to now run it during cold weather cause people might get suspicious on why i have it on.

i got 4 1000 watt lights in the attic and 4 lights in the bedroom. the attic door is only 6 ft from the bedroom so im thinkin its a good idea if i just vent the heat to the attic and just keep the ac on up there 24 hours a day. of course il have both rooms alternate there 12 12 cycles.

all i would need is a fan and ducting to get this done right? if so what size fan would i need? push the air pull the air what do you guys think? oh and the size of the room is 11' x 12' approx

Vortex V-Series 2050 CFM 12" Fan - V-12XL

I'd go with one of these. Don't have one but it's what I would get.

In my opinion the smart thing to do is to put a dryer duct outside and hook up a 4" top of the line exhaust fan which will probably be around 200 CFM and hook the exhaust fan to a thermastat and bring in winter air into your grow room. With 2 lights in 1 room in the winter, I don't need exhaust or AC and with 2 more lights, the winter air will be perfect for your needs.

i decided im gonna do what snype said but i have a question. i already have a 4" can fan but theres no holes on it to screw it to anything. i should be screwing this into the wall right? is there any way i can attach this fan to the wall or am i gonna have to buy a fan that allows me to screw it in?

Not really sure what you mean but there's not supposed to be holes in it. You can mount the exhaust to the ceiling with a bracket or if you don't have the bracket then you can buy some type of L-Bracket at home depot to mount it. If you look at this picture in this link:

You can see how there's a bracket that was installed on this exhaust and you can screw it into the ceiling. The ducting stays on the exhaust with a 4" clamp that you buy at home depot that tightens onto the lip of the exhaust.

yeah but whats keeping the fan attached to the bracket? its looks like a screw there or something right? it looks like that bracket comes with that fan and is made for that fan only

Yeah they usually will come with a bracket but if it didn't you can use and L-Bracket or make your own bracket with some metal from Home Depot. There should be a place on the fan that has screws in it so you just attached the bracket to those screw and drill any holes that you need in your bracket to make it fit properly.

Dude! You guys go throwing out tons of stinky ass air and ALL the neighbors will wonder why your raping skunks in your house. Unless, suck the air out through a carbon filter first. The wrapper on the side of the carbon filter shows you how to calculate the size of fan and filter based on room dimensions.
You guys probably thought about it but thought I'd mention it if not.

To my knowledge, no one is dumping air outside, he is bringing outside air into the grow room. If he was dumping air outside, I would agree with the Carbon Filter on the way out.

Check the lumber dept at Lowe's Depot. There are a bunch of different galvanized metal brackets. There may be something suitable. Good luck. -granger

I have found that the metal roll of plumber straps works good.. I'm talking about th stuff plumbers use to hand pipes under houses.. It's a roll of thin metal like half inch wide and has lots of holes in it. Cut a couple pieces remove screw from fan attach plumber strap and screw to ceiling ..
