Enjoy is a subjective word,, we used to ride all sorts,, from 19 hand Shires ,, 16 hand Arabs .. to a 21 hand Hunter ,, bareback ,, hold onto the mane and gee-up go-flex :D

Horses are mental!!! Thus you need to be either young in the mind or completely mental to even get on one and survive it! I n I gave up chasing lorries / jugganauts down the road after avoiding jumping field hedges on horse-back a long time ago thanks ,, jah bless my sanity and cotton socks since :canabis:

I like horses,, but riding them about is another matter completely. !! IMO

Here's a photo I took while fishing the local river one day.. dem real Gypsy horses :D

At this age horses are still quite innocent and stupid,,, its only when they get older they get smarter,,, lol

These two are obviously siblings... same patterns on faces, mane, knees and noses :joint:

She bought one this year and is trying to get me into it too. Horses are way too expensive for me right now.... So I'll practice with my coconuts.....

SDOG--------- I posted well over 15oo posts on another board that went down--- OG--- I spent alot of time answering alot of questions seriously... I just have not had the time nor the energy to put that into this board. Not that this is a bad board just I had not the strength to begin again.
Since it went down and I joined this board I have been building businesses and a ranch/farm and have had very little down time until my two deaths.
Fortunately even with this bad economy, my poor health issue has led me to sell my businesses before the big economic crash and I no longer need to work at a job. I just work my farm/ranch which means my horses.
I fortunately have two new trucks 2005 F-350 dually and an 2005 F-650 hauler and 2 horse trailers- a 2007 2 horse sundowner & 2005-4 horse w/ living quaters sundowner and my nice boat a 2003 26' regulator. All paid for and no home mortgage as I sold an upscale single family home and bought my way out country home and had money left over to buy extra things.
I suffered a severe internal injury which has damaged my internal organs from an accident riding horses. No need to explain to me the hazzards of equines. I still love them and will always be around them. I now a different level of understanding of them thanks to Frank Bell, Pony Boy, and Dennis Reis.
It is amazing how a slew of doctors will tell you that we tested everything and you are perfectly fine your just sore and it will take time for you to feel better. Meanwhile the next day, you end up crashing and being helo lifted to your local shock trauma ward, crashing twice. Impact caused swelling of my internal organs which in turn cut off blood supplies and caused signifigant damage over a period of time, about 7 months. So 7 months from time of impact to time of crash flatline.........and resussitation 2 times.
After all that and trying to recover, I had to sell my businesses. I fortunatly I had a huge client base and well established company name and it sold easy for alot of money. My other business I just got out alive.
I can hopefully live ok on what I have for the rest of my shortened life. I train horses now and other things, but at a much SLOWER pace then I used to move at. I even drive slower. I am still recovering but I am about 80% at this point. 90% is about the limit because my organs cannot take a strain. (transplants are not an option for me as I am not willing to undergo that type of repression and sickness)I don't smoke cigs, or drink alcohol and I eat a very strict diet and only drink water so I can smoke a ton of weed to make up for it.
Well SDOG that about sums up why the low post count for the long membership.
Do not say sorry for anything, we all have our lot in life and this is mine. Hopefully yours is exceptional, and you keep getting up. If it is not then get your head up and make the most of it while you can. There are many people out there that are alot worse then you or I could ever be.
I was in the Military for 10 years. Infantry.... I saw the world through its asshole and believe me there is alot of shit in this world.
Make the best bro.
Respects,

Up...

Must be more of us here! Went for a nice ride in the forest today, but didn't have a joint to take with unfortunately. Maybe it is better that way, once I got the munchies on horseback and ate all the horse candy I had with. They were Effol too, so not particularly tasty. I've also sampled pretty much the whole Likit range... Which is so good I almost want to hang one by the side of my bed.

well get yourself some saddle bags and bring you some munchies. I always bring smoked chicken 1/2's and fruits. In the summer there are wild berries in abundance to stop and pick to eat. cut up tomatoes and whatever put them in small flat tupperware and they fit nice. Great for sandwich making on the trail. I roll about 5 joints real fat before we go out. When it is time to smoke, I cut them all in half and give every one a half joint and it is perfect amount to smoke for most. Fuck, there is nothing better that I like to do then to go go ride horses and smoke some weed.

my new young horse....a 3yr old....is an American Sport Horse.....That is 1/2 arabian and 1/2 saddlebred.....I am hoping to use her as my new "Fox Hunter" next year 2014. I am avid in my local "Hunt". Most everyone in the hunt smokes weed or is weed tolerant now at this point.... 2 years ago......NEVER..it was never mentioned and people were ostrisized for doing it...I absolutely love fox hunting....it is not a kill hunt but we hunt to ground....awesome...some of the best times of life. I am the "Whipper In" for my hunt. It is a tough thankless job, but controlling the hounds and you "in the hunt" and then the breakfast afterwards is always THE BEST. We have people who are members of our hunt that come in from 100 miles out in all directions and we have about 20,000 private acres of land to hunt as well as host hunts and then you can always and should always "Cap" in at another hunt....
Like I said....we are a no kill hunt, we do hunt or go to ground....we are a full traditional attire hunt and all guests including "Hilltoppers" must be in proper attire to saddle in. Women in hairnets and no perfumes or jewelry, Men and women must be in tweed jacket buff/tan, ratcatcher vest, all leather saddle, reins, bridle, field boots, minimal gee gaw, no red jackets unless prior approval from the Hunt Master etc...........
