Ending the full 9th week of flowering on wednesday. Growing an "indoor mix" of plants & the package said 7 to 9 weeks, but the Trich's still look clear, & they're still sprouting some White hairs on the buds. Do I let these keep going or cut them at 9 weeks? They have been getting ph'd water & no ferts for the last 3 waterings.

On a side note, these things are packed with crystals :woohoo:.5 of the 6 smell like different variety's of sweet smelling Skunk, & one just stinks all to be damn'd, VERY PUGNENT, never smelled anything like it & cant describe it. I have pics, but can't figure out how to post them in threads.

Any suggestions on when to cut these????

let the trichs tell you when not the package. Read your plants. I usually wait until they are milky and when I think I should cut them I wait 1 week .

Darth is correct. Follow the trichs. I like a little amber thrown in, just a few.

Also not all plants mature at the same rate, even if from the same pack of seeds and sprouted together. Harvest each plant on its own merit.

I am so new at this and this is what I gather.... After generations of plants You Learn when the trichs are good for You. Later is more like hash and Earlier is more like Sativa. Other than that it should be up to you. Following the breeders' advice and then add one-two weeks. I actually had one many weeks past the recomendations and loved it that way. Of 8 plants the one that sat for an extra month (for the sake of trying to make seeds) was a great stoney smoke. About a third longer than the breeder had said.

Thank's guys, guess I'll wait them out. Should I keep giving them straight water, or give some more ferts? Looks like they all will go at least one more week.

Do yourself a favor and add 1 teaspoon of Molassas to a gallon of water from now until chop. You will have smooth, sweet smoke. It works!

My girls are both at ~9 weeks, and I have a whole bunch of cloudy trichomes, some clear, very few amber. I noticed the other night when I went to feed them the pots were dry after only 3 days, previosuly it has taken at least 5, and they started out taking 7 days between feedings. I was torn between starting the flush and feeding one more time, so I made my decision based on their consumption, which seems to be increasing, and fed them again with some nutes mixed a little weaker than usual.

Next time it's dry, I'm going to check the trichs again and then make another call as to whether they need feeding or flushing. I'm going to start my flush when everything feels right and not a second sooner. I've waited this long, you know, what's a little extra on top of an already long wait? Not much I'd say!

I figured as much. That's why I decided to feed them again. I also upgraded my lamp recently, and the temps in the far southeast are not cooperating. The heat probably accounts for a lot of the water recently. All in all they still look good.

I agree to use the trichs to figure out when to cut, but Jorge Cervantes says to wait until you see (using a small portable 30X microscope) the Capitate Stalked trichomes to form, which are golden in colour, looking like a mushroom with the stems being 2X taller than the caps. those contains the lions share of THC.

i would also wait until the trichs are 1/3 amber. especially if you're doing a mostly indica, but sativas should be ready after about 10% of the crystals are amber.

i've never heard about the molasses trick, but it sounds like a larf, so i may try it.

570 try putting a small fan in that corner to move the air around a bit and even out the temps. ventilation and air movement indoors is good and prevents many problems.

Freebuzz,
Trics are an excellent indicator once you're familar with the strain. But there's a for sure way to get exactly what you want, pick a small nug quick dry and try. This way you get exactly what you want.
