Emily's Sister

Just a couple of ideas to throw out there, as this will be my 2nd grow. Here's what I got. 1.5x2x4 area, 400W both bulbs, Emily' garden, thinking of bending the wick as to put 2 cubes per plant container instead of one, just don't use as much geolite and it sets lower in planter. Got super veg, got Bill's, got Canna for flower with KaBloom. What else do I need and any pointers? Just waiting on beans. Happy New Year!!!

BLue :woohoo:

emily's garden is a small unit to begin with...I wouldn't want to see what happens when you have 12 plants from seed in that space. if you were going from clone it would still be difficult, and almost impossible, so to do this from seed might not be such a great idea.

I think it would work if you grew 1 per container (seeds), then when they are old enough take clones for sex. When you establish which are females, then you can take and grow the clones of the females in the Emily's Garden. Just some food for thought.

Thanks peeps; sunny, it seemed from 1st round I could have used a lot more room as I was doin it, I thought maybe that much light and no vent or pest problems I could utilize more. Just a thought, my plan b is easy removal of one or both of cubes in planters in case it don't work. I got enough beens comin', too early to worry bout clones.lol Happy New Year

the clones are not because of lack of beans...clones are grown to make your life easier....trust me growing in a confined space is soooo much easier from clone. But I understand limitations and if you want to grow from seed, go right ahead ;) good luck

Wonder what would be better also, the BG Hydro little black ball for odor protection or the Aspen deal from Inside Sun? What are the opinions on either?

I am not sure either of those are sufficient options...activated carbon is the only way to go imo. If you grow herb you must own one of these filters. The risk is too high and the solution is too simple. If the cost turns you off, think about how much a bust could cost. I appologize for being the wet blanket, but I want everyone to be as safe as possible. On that note there is a cheaper almost as effective option, ozone. Ozone is a little cheaper on the front end but it is not as effective. Alot of people claim that the vaportek is a wonderful device. Do a search on that or better yet, go get yourself a carbon filter!!

So the ion generator isn't as good as the ozone generator, I take it. Damn, its just a closet, lol, hate to spend a lot, but want to make effort anyway. Thank you very much for the info. Have a good one.

exactly...Except I wouldnt build one I would buy it. Trust me this is the last piece of equipment you want to skimp on. I would argue that the carbon filter is more important than light. The big expense will be the fan to push the air through the filter. The filter isn't that expensive. :)
