so im in northern ny and due to security reasons i had to put my 12 plants outside today.

strains are nirvana auroa and wonderwomen as well as 2 dwarf auto flowers. i put them in a clear plastic tote with a white lid. then set them by a building i have behind the house on top of like 5" or dry leaves from past years. its supposed to dip into the 40s tonight there only about 7" tall and doing rather well do you guys think they will be fine ?

like Jay-Toker says keep them covered at night while it is still getting frost at night. I have the same thing in Denver. I started some seeds and clones too early indoors and now I am going nuts checking them every day. The average last frost in Spring here is around the 5th of May and Mother's day is the traditional day to plant. I am so tired of looking after the plants. I am going to check the long range weather forcast on May 1st and plant if it looks warm.

Oh your plants might try to flower for a while with the short light days. They will come out of it fine as the days get longer.

Cold makes them grow very slow and does cause a little damage to the plant. The damage is slight enough that most people don't need to worry about a day or so of cold if they cover the plants. Also some varietys are more cold sensitive than others. Make sure the leaves of plants don't touch the plastic and maybe throw a blanket over the tote during the night hours. Also please don't do this stuff over the long term as all these pointers are for getting you over a few days when you can plant or security lets you throw them under the lights again.
