Elephant Stomper vs. Cheese & Chaze for Male Pollen Source

I have some female plants growing on the side, rooted with male plants.

The female plants are -
Green Crack x Apollo 11
Blueberry Headband x Blue Widow

The male plants are
Connoisseur Genetics, Cheese & Chaze
Hazeman, Elephant Stomper.

Descriptions of the male plants from the website -

Elephant Stomper -
"Purple Elephant cut X Grape Stomper x Aloha White Widow"

Cheese & Chaze -
"The legendary Exodus Cheese got crossed with their proven SSSDH male to infuse lemon candy haze with super tasty, musky Cheese funk. Expect medium to high yields as well as extreme potency and odours. Suitable for indoor and outdoor. Flowering time: 10-12 weeks."

They both sound good and both male plants are healthy.

Is there any consensus about either strain - good/ bad, fantastic/ meh, WHATEVER ?

Just looking for some guidance. I can afford to have some seeded bud and I always like having some new seeds, if they're interesting with good parents.

Sounds like your opening the door for alot of work there bud

All I can say is font flower random pheno with random pheno as your never sure what ya gonna get

Also

Hermie genes are a lot easier to create than works of genius

I'm subbing because I want to get involved with breeding but ain't got the balls (no pun Intended boom tisssssh)

I honestly wish you well in your findings but I'm quite sure there is reason behind culling the males or atleast not having a few randoms openly pollinate a few random females...........

(after all I believe that's a way to earn a greenhouse seeds reputation quickly sorry)

Also my breeding knowledge isn't exactly top shelf so I'm open to corrections and even flaming but please flame me in pm and not here as I'm trying to learn aswell

Also valid question tho bud

Personally, I'd use the Elephant Stomper, especially with those strains.

Usually (not always) but usually, you want a more indica male, sativa males can be kinda weird in that they often just impart a much larger structure and longer flowering times, and not much else, which can sometimes degrade potency because the larger your yield, the lower the potency (most of the time anyways). Also Haze based males are notoriously more prone to produce very undesirable traits, that's why you don't see them very often as males in mainstream breeding and when they are used, they usually don't produce anything world class.

The Elephant Stomper would probably marry well to both those strains but in particular the Blueberry Headband x Blue Widow should mix very well because they both contain White Widow genetics which are pretty hardy genetics, and having them on both sides means you'll most likely impart some of the better traits from the WW and since both sides have the genetic traits for purpling, high amounts of frost, and grape/berry taste.... you're more likely to find something super nice.

The GC x A11 would probably also marry well but for a completely different reasons, but both of those strains on their own are pretty amazing for quick Sativa-Dom genetics, and since it's better to use Sativas as the mother in a cross, you're more likely to change the THC profile of the Elephant Stomper to something that's either a hybrid of the cannabinoid profile from the GCxA11 or completely change it while retaining a lot of the Elephant Stomper's structure and adding in some purp, chem, and WW traits which could be really interesting.

Just my opinion, but from experience, Haze based males usually aren't the best idea and with the mothers involved, I think Elephant Stomper is your man in this one. You could always take pollen from both, use a small amount to paint a branch or two of each and then pop em off and see the results and then if you like one over another, use the left over pollen of whichever one produced better results and make yourself a decent batch of seeds based on the results you see from the progeny.

It really boils down to which direction you wanna take your hybrids. I would venture an educated guess that the Cheese and Chaze male is gonna add some flower time on shorter flowering varieties. Both SSSDH and Exodus are 10+ week varieties. While the more WLD/Hybrid type Elephant Stomper is 10 weeks or less.

Also depends on which visual traits/smells your looking for in a male. I try and use males that have the structure of a nice female and a strong smell from a stem rub. In the end, without a lab, the only way to see what the males bring, is to grow their progeny. May be beneficial to make seeds in the plants with both males and see which male makes the better hybrid.

Make crosses using both males. You wont know the results until you actually grow the seeds anyway.
By using both males you increase your chances of finding compatible plants that result in excellent crosses.
Who knows? One of the males may produce complete crap across the board or he may not mix well with one of the mothers.

I killed the Cheese & Chaze.

This morning I was watering the plants and noticed a healthy Critical OG male that finally showed its gender.

Meanwhile the Elephant Stomper male is spritzing away.

I hear good things about Critical OG and the least-work path is to just him do his thing.

Which means more random-ness in the seeds that result. However, I think this might be a case of "good random-ness".
