Electronic ballasts from china

Hey guys old uncle here, I have heard good things about quantum ballasts on here, and i guess like everything else these days it is made in china, Now i was poking around the net and i found some websites like alibaba, that have a place for these companies to sell directly to the consumer.

My question is has anyone ordered from them in this manner, and can one order quantum ballasts from the actual manufacturer, and save big $$$

Just curious as to what is know by all you guys out there.

No one has any experience finding out who makes the ballasts in china??

If ordering from ALibaba you usually have to get at least 100, sometimes an entire cargo container of them. I got my Quantum 1000W's for $264 from a local shop, they have lots of leeway on these and they don't fail as often as Lumateks.

idk what wattage you're looking for but I just ordered a 600 from dchydro for only 161 +shipping

My purple Lumateks have been rock solid for well over a year now, zero bulb/ballast problems. I dont know about the old blue case models? I have 2x600 & 2x1kw, getting another 1k next week
The new 1kw switchables are really nice Any current, any bulb, $320 out the door...
