I want opinions on what is to much juice. I'm thinking about rougyly 4000 watts all in and not sure what that costs or looks like. 1000 watter for soil tent, 600 for hydro tent, 400 watter for males and reveg tent then 3 or 5 125 watt CFL's for mums. Pump and TDS meter for hydro and of course fans for all 4 tents. I read a lot that if I pay the bill it's all good but I don't want the grow to be $200 a month.:thank you:

first step is determine who your electric company is, find out your kwh rates, crunch the numbers, estimate, whatever you estimate, expect 50% more expenses than that.

i can help if you can find your kwh rates.

How much juice to suck for a 2 bedroom house? Thinking of dropping the 600 watt, just wanted inputs. I have a ways till I buy the house, just renting it now and thinking of what kind of grow would stay under the radar. Ever hear of cheaper rates during non-peak hours? I have heard of it but not sure if it's true!

I only see 2000 watts of hid.
drop the 400 and 600 and use some t5's forvegging, moms and dads..Set the hydro and soil on a flip flopwith the 1k that'll save you a couple bucks but in all reality a 200 dollar a month bill isnt gonna send out red flags

4k should be fine in a 2 br house. especially if you keep other electric usage low.i wouldnt worry bout it at all.

General rule is 1k for each bedroom. But that can be manipulated by other elec consumption like laundary, cooking, and non grow related thermo control.

Always ways to sacrafice or save a buck for the electricity that matters.................the growing electricity.

Also.................pay your bill on time and no human will ever see it. Its a totally automated process until you start missing bills.:tiphat:

Your not doin' it right if your electric bill isnt larger then your rent/mortgage. ;)

I struggle with dealing with 'wasted' space.

I think it's ten cents a KWH but the lights aren't 24/7, the lights I'm looking at also can dial down to 75% which is good for costly veg.

Don't forget the distribution charge which will double your bill. Also don't forget some companies also double the rates if yours are higher than the norm. 4 lights plus your normal use will run around $400 a month. Add a veg room and you are around $500 a month.

Put a timer on your hot water tank, and cut any other electrical usage you can. You will be able to get a lot more than you think. I feel the 1 light per bedroom is an outdated number. If you cut a lot of the other shit then you can get much more safely.

3600w in a 1bdr apt ran with no issues... 5k in a 2bdr town home no issue either.. Pay ur bill. If your concerned about the load showing up as a schedule then double up an run the same wattage 24/7 :joint:

WOW THIS DUDES DREAM MAY BURN DOWN HOUSE

WOW THIS DUDES DREAM MAY BURN DOWN HOUSE

It sounds to me like you are going over board bro. I can tell you are Aussie by you writing. And possibly a rookie wanting to kick it up a notch or ten. Booha!
Here are prices in Australia NSW actually Per KW/1000watts 29cents for the first 4000watts used then 31c for the next 4000KW used & then every thing after 8000 watts used a day is charged at 35c per 1000watts/1KW, as well as about $1 a day sir charge. Not cheap any more!
Lets say an average of 32c you will use 4000 per hour= roughly $506.00 per month at 12 hours a day
at 18 hours= 760.00 per month

BRO AT THOSE PRICES YOU BETTER FIND SOME REAL QUICK FINISHING INDICAS. Not to mention you will need to upgrade your electricals to handle that load.:snap out of it::hotbounce:spank::bat:
