Electricity panels

load centers

load centers

I've built several load centers before. With a few timers to control ballasts, pumps, fans, etc. The load centers had different size breakers, 15 amp for each ballast, 30 to 40 amp double pole breakers for AC units. You can even have your ballasts wired for 240 volts. All the receptacles are mounted to the sides of the load center (electrical panel). I can build you a load center for a system with 4 to 40 ballasts.....

I can email you pix of some of the units I've built.

It's been so long since I uploaded more pix here, can I email you some pix to another email, you can PM the email address. What else do you want to power from the load center with your 4 1000 watt ballasts. Do you want more than one timer installed...

I'd put all four ona 2 pole 30A circuit to a intermatic WH40,then to your receptacle box.Simple and safe. You will be pulling around 20 amps totalEDIT But the man above me makes killer load centers if you're after something different

Thanx Ballastman, I appreciate the kudos. I try and build items to the best level of quality and customizing. I agree, if you have 4 ballasts, just run them all off a double-pole breaker, try and find a DP 25 amp breaker, they're hard to find, but will never trip when all 4 ballasts turn on....

DB between me you and of course Thorodee who's still a wirin as far as I can tell, these folks arent going to have any electrical issues.Damn I left out the sandman shame on me lol!I'm just glad there are other electricians around so that when I get a buzz and start thinking too hard about something,I dont give any bad advice.I usually dont,I did the other day with the underrated fuse though. Thanks

You wanna hear something emabarassing lol?The other morning buzzed on grapefruit I started thinking about ohm's law and somehow came to the conclusion that a fuze rated at 125V when it should be 250V may have somehow upped the amperage causing the breaker to trip and fuse to blow. You know decreased volatge increased amperage?Yea Bman an OC device is somehow magically cause an increase in amperage.Whats funny is I'm just as buzzed now and the idea seems so ludicris,I wouldn't be laughing though had I not been "snapped out of it"I take this too seriously, both the safety and growing aspects
