If I switch my Lights from 7am/7pm to 7pm/7am I was told the rates are cheaper at night? is this true.

It depends if you have a smart meter too, otherwise they can't tell what time your using the power.

I called them and it's called point of use meter. It's only good if you run everything at night. If you use it in the day it cost more then normal. I got to find another solution

i just rang my elec company today to enquire, ive got to have new meter installed to get this. It does work out a lot cheaper but dont fancy them coming out installing extra equipment

ask your company about their rates personally. i've known people to try to grow, and get their electricity bill back and find out that it boosted $50+ from a 400w light.
How much are they paying were KWH? That is ridiculous! I could add 4k in lighting and my bill would jump $51.12 per month! 3.5 cents per KWH is nice!

How many other people here in cali are getting raped by pg&e ? My bill is $400+ at my house with a total of one 400 watt mH on 18/6. At the apartment the bill ranges from 200-300$ for flowering 2400 watts 12/12. The nice bracket system of quickly going from 11 cents per KWH to 40 cents per KWH seems to be the reason the bill gets so high but considering whats going on at the house i'd rather not call them to inquire.
40 cents per KWH? Holy shit! I still do not understand why so many people think Cali is the place to grow... If you get over 6 plants, all the Cali laws are pretty much gone. Over 99 plants and its Federal.
So why would you grow somewhere it cost 11.5 times as much for electricity and can only get $2k an elbow? I pay 3.5 cents/KWH and elbows go for $5200 at the cheapest here for home grown.
