Hello lovelies!

I just bought a new cooltube and it didnt have a plug attached =/

i purchased a pigtail for it, but i have verrrry limited experience in wiring things. (i have only used a soldering gun for fun when i was younger =/, and i dont think that really count)

i was wondering if anyone would have a diagram or something of the sort, i searched and could only come up with constructing the reflector, not the wiring. ..

Its from MDHydro, "Value Cool Tube" (not sure what this references is, but im guessing its similar to a model #) RFVACOOL

and its from Hydrofarm

The provided instructions, but they were shitty, and half of them were cut off =?

any help from u lovely electricians would be great!

common of the ballast to the silver screw on the back of the socket. lamp wire off the ballast to the dark screw on the back of the socket. make sure you ground the metal on the cool tube enclosure also. i hook my ground to the screw that holds the socket to the metal bracket. you should have three wires in your pigtail. white, black, green
white= common (light colored screw)
black= hot (dark colored screw)
green= ground (attach to metal housing)

Well the two screws were identical . . shape, size, color, everything was the same. .

the only difference i see between the two:
when you look into the socket, one of the screws connects to the bottom of the actual socket (the part that u screw the bulb into)
and the other screw is by the small piece of metal and spring that has resistance when you screw the bulb in. . (the "tip" on the bottom that reaches the furthest point into the scoket)

sorry, i dont have a digi cam at the moment, im a film kinda guy, and thats the best description i can give =?

thanks for the help thorodee, wish they had used dif. color screws!

any help would be appreciated

My Favorite Electrician:

My Favorite Electrician:

My favorite electrician ( =P ) has helped me once again, sent me a PM tho, what a nice guy! Much love and respect to him! (and everyone, of course!)

Here is his response for anyone that EVER gets one of these "Value Cool Tubes" from MDHydro and cant figure out the directions from their half-cutoff directions. .

From thorodee:

hook the hot wire to the screw that hooks up to the tab at the bottom of the socket. hook the common wire to the screw that attaches to the threaded part of the socket.

Hope this helps some More people for wiring reflectors!
