First of all, what's with the small type? Do you think making your thread harder to read is a good thing?
Secondly, here's a couple links to current threads discussing exactly this subject. If you do a search before posting you can get a lot of information AND save the local Sparkies a lot of repetitious typing.
Edit - mikeross - I was in kind of a funk when I wrote this yesterday and I shouldn't have been so terse. Truly though, there are a lot of middle-aged and senior users on this forum and using small type like that can make it really hard for some of us to read.
$600 is about right... It's a tad on the light side but don't be suspicious. I'm doing the same thing. Because of this recession he probably desperately needs the work and is trying to undercut any other estimates you may have gotten. Actually, I'd probably do it for a tad less.... 2 years ago and it would have run you 7 or 8.
As an electrical contractor I don't care what the sub panel is for. I just care if the check clears. Me and my apprentices have stood and drooled at many a basements as we installed a sub panel.
$600 sounds bout right for an electrician that is hurting for work and we all are right now.
I should have said ex-contractor. I need a triple fusion with a 4th soon after. I don't work any more. Me and one of my old apprentices want to start a company that caters to just grow rooms. You all are a paranoid group so I just don't see it happening.
i am a licensed electrician in boulder county, Colorado.. I own my company Build and Grow.. and all i do is build controller boards for mmj patients.. Anywhere from single dedicated 20amp circuits, to full independent stand alone 100 amp subs.. I wish i could upload pics from my iphone here.. i would show ya how easy it is.. (but if you cross any wires your fucked!).. Any ways if your in a medical friendly state see if you have someone like me around who is a medical patient, caregiver, and sparky..
