So I get up today and there are works on the adjacent house, therre is a new driveway front door and disabled access being installed. Front and rear.

Before I had a chance to smoke up today the door knocks and as usual, hang 'on a sec mate I need to get a key'.

I let him in, he looks at the meeter talks his usual BS and go's about his business.

So happy I bought a new filter 3 days ago....


If he had been a hour later, he wasn't coming in..

Any of you lot let the guy in when your on with one or do you just fill in the lil slip and be done with it or do you do yours online?

Have you got a routine you get into when this sort of thing happens?

I live in Ireland, so when the metre man calls for a reading i make it my business not to be home.."i have him, and the bill well timed, so i know when the knock is due" Lights come on at 6 pm, plants get a feed at 7 so he is well of duty at that time any way, even if i am at home..

It does help having the metre on the inside of the house, so its just a case of taking the reading yourself and then forward it on by text. Oh yes superx v the metre man lol....

over the years I had quite a few meter guys see some weed...one guy even mentioned my plants looked droopy once but smelled awesome...got to love cali...now with smart meter there is no one coming in my back yard...and with solar now my last bill was $14.75...yeeeeeehawwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, in BC there was getting to be a problem with grows for meter readers.... Cops wanted info, small towns, didn't go so well..... New policy was don't see,say, hear anything, and if in risk just come back later...lol

But yeah smart meters are kinda nice for the privacy now here too....

I had my Arizer on the table along with a few jars, bong, 1/2 litre oil, my enjoy tub carrying my daily 1/2 of perci, my camera and 50 packs of vegetable seeds.

I've had a tidy up and don't plant to be that slack again.. Most was away in the corner or not open but when I scanned the room I had to "Fist Bite..

Work bit about it was I had just ground down a bud of Cheese to roll up..

He must have been smelling that.. There's no hideing it..

I just have a smoking room very far from the front door, at least 2 locked doors to get through to get in there. That way I got no problem is someone comes around when I'm smoking and I need to let them in. As I never have weed or any related items laying around in the rest of the house.

Yeah I have negative pressure in the rooms I do the dirty in, smoking included and they are behind more than one door from the entrance, different floor.

I've had cops come in the house when I wasn't home (wife called them) and hey had no clues.

I have always had my shit hidden smell and all.

Have a ol school smker buddy who worked for cable company.

In the US private citizens and employees of private companies dont need warrants to tell LEO what they have seen at your home.

He told me the cops offered the installers incentives to tip out customers.

Options and preferences.. I would prefer not to ventilate the grow. Tent's in a sealed room situation here.. With a fake door.. Can't smoke in their.

I was building a new room(I had 2 flower, and 1 veg already)and I was literally hanging the lights when I heard someone yell, so I came out of the room(which was a shop on the back of my house) It was a cable company technician. He said that my house was putting off a crazy frequency that was disrupting the entire area.

I shit a couple of bricks, and we tried to figure things out. Come to find out there were old lines that got cut that was sending the frequency. Luckily it wasn't my ballasts, especially since I was in the Southern US where what I was doing was frowned upon slightly.

Oh the good ol' days.

Once the meter man came and took a reading and I was outside at the time and was just making small talk. When he read the meter and seen it spinning ultra fast he said "damn what do you got a nuclear power plant in the house". I told him straight up I was cultivating cannabis. He didn't care at all, just laughed and said something like ahh makes sense.

Once I even had some police at the housetalking to my g/f and. I was in the main grow room/areawith my headphones on, and didn't realize they were there, right directly in front of the door leading to my grow rooms. I came out to get something and there they were like a foot away from my face, staring down in the basement with my HPS orange lights blasting out, and at the time I had no carbon filters or anything. They didn't say a word, when I know for sure they know what was up. they just don't care and it's just a waste of their time to worry about marijuana grows.
I live in a state where it's 100% legal; medicinal and recreational.

My neighboor across the street is a retired hydro-electric co. worker used to go around reading meters lol, he also went to school with my father and uncle's... My uncle who is now deceased used to grow in the apt building he lived in,he resided downstairs and also rented the upstairs, he was buddies with the owner who lived in florida, upstairs was a small 1 bedroom, living room and kitchen a 3-1/2 room completely filled with 400 w hps lamps over 8000 w for sure and I asked him once aren't you afraid you'll get reported by tbe meter guy? He answered not really, cause I'm buddies with the meter guy went to school with him lol. A few weeks ago I was working night shift rearranging one of my rooms and just outside me house next to the neighbouring property there's a bicycle trail which tbe local idiot's use to ride atvs and ski doos... So cops keep an eye lots of local pedestrians complain about illegal motorists. Cops where parked about 20 feet away from a grow, but they where looking for somebody who stole an atv and used the trail to get away..My gf saw them and told me they we're parked there at midnight for a good while, I got that ugly feeling in my stomach and felt a wave of paranoia coming on...then she tells me the reason they we're actually trying to catch an atv jacker !!! She found out from Facebook what had happened the night before... Think they know they we're that close to a grow

ha down here in oz they have a front door key to let themselves in. if door not to be opened with said key, they have a devise that reads from outside the door. no probs here.

Yeah up here all the house meters are outside so they just walk over to your property, in some of the bigger apt complex the meters are inside a locked room, but they usually have access. And with smart meters you rarely see them going around anymore. There more concerned about theft then energy guzzlers who pay without complaining..
