electric float switch?

E

Eminem

Anyone have a good source for these? I did a quick google search, didnt find what I wanted.

I am hoping to get a float switch that can handle 5amps 120 volts. I need it to turn a pump on and am looking to do it w/o using any relays or contactors.

I am hoping someone has a good source as I know alot of people have built controller buckets etc and may have a good source

here is a free BUMP for you... i dont think i have ever seen these before. Why dont you wanna build relays? they are easy and you can make them do just about anything!

Good luck in your quest.

Yes, they come with many pumps. They are called (float switch for pump) or (pump with float). The bulb that rises with the water, is that what you are looking for?

google i-float. it's cheap as hell, used for fish tank auto topoffs. the wiring gauge is tiny, so if you wire it in-line to a pump or an extension a pump is plugged in to...safety may be in jeopardy. i used one to operate a small 160gph pump for years, til calcium gunked up the float. got a new one, since they're like $6, and wired it in - used a huge like 600gph RIO pump and it worked well for two years til i sold the whole setup.

you could wire that float to a relay that could handle higher ampz though. again, your milage may vary. better to play it safe- but I got by with like 20 gauge wire spliced in to a semiheavyduty extension cord.
