effects of overwatering?

i recently thought to make a post about a question i've had for a while. i've got four plants going right now, three of which require watering every day, the fourth, a different strain, does not. i casually overlooked the difference in strains at the beginning, so i watered them all every day. then i started realizing leaves starting to curl up on the fourth plant, due to overwatering i believe. i have since stopped. but many of the leaves towards the middle of the plant are still curled up. i was wondering, what are the long term effects of overwaterign a plant? will this effect my yield at all? aside from this problem, i would say the plant is in excellent health. all the plants are now in the second week of flowering

well, overwatering cuts the oxygen levels in the soil,so it makes for a weaker root systems, which generally makes a weaker plant.cannabis prefers a wet dry cycle, why are you watering everyday?

overwatering:

yellowing lower leaves can happen
stunted growth

yes overwatering will affect yield, and stress will affect yield

i got into watering every day because three of the plants i've got going right now seriously need water every day. if i skip a day they dry out and the leaves and branches go limp. so i water every day. i just didn't take into account that my fourth plant wasn't the same way. theres no yellowing in the leaves, really the only thing that appears off about the plant at all to me, is the curling up of some fan and branch leaves, other than that it appears really healthy,

Aside from root rot problems from overwatering in soil, you could leach out calcium and things and get deficiencies.

soulman it sounds like your plants could do with being in bigger pots if they need watering every day.

Verdant Green is right, probably time for a repot. Watering problems often come from trying to get watering into some kind of schedule. A fast growing, high energy plant like cannabis has watering requirements that change almost hourly. Meeting those needs will be on an individual basis, not a schedule. You say some plants need water at such and such a time, while the other needs water at another time. If I were caring for your plants, I might see many more than just two seperate watering times.

alright i see, thanks for the input guys. i realize that i overwatered one of the plants, because of the curling of the leaves, but in the other plants, the plants that i still water everyday, if i dont see any effects of overwatering, or bad health at all, do you guys think i should stop watering everyday? they all look really healthy, the leaves are strait, and a very healthy green from the bottom, all the way up the plant

if they need water daily, then give it to them.

get coco, and water every day with no worries.
