If your set up in a basement, and have negative pressure, im assuming that the hot air and carbon monoxide from the hot water heater (natural gas), is being vented sucked into your basement...
I dont think the hot air/fumes from the heater tank are forced, instead the heat rises naturally. Well when you have any amount of negative kpa in that area, i would just assume that stuff is being pulled out. I have my water heat set on high as it goes, and it has struggled to keep my house water around luke warm.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has input... thx
