I have noticed a lot of post being edited or deleted.

Why is there so much need to censor opinions ?

I'm not talking about advertising for free either.
I'm not talking about discussing illegal activities openly in post either.
I'm mainly speaking of having an opinion and having it altered or deleted.

People can bash the F*ck out of each other in religious debate here or in growing techniques or organic verses chemical, but one mention of something obviously emotionally attached to the Editor / Deletionist , and PooF its gone.

Anyone care to discuss?

P.S. This isn't a Mod bashing thread please don't turn it into one.
The point of this thread is to express how you feel about your thread being deleted / altered.

Opinions are not deleted. You are assuming you know why things are edited. Clearly, you don't. Violations and fighting are edited, yes. Off site links are edited, yes. If we delete the post, we get bitched at. If we leave it and simply edit the offending part out, we get bitched at. Not much we can do to please everyone.

I'm not assuming anything.
That's why i asked to discuss.
I know absolutely nothing about how it operates you are 100% right. Some mods operate totally different in editing and deleting then others like the vendor forum for example.
I'm not blaming or calling mods monsters. I'm saying some mods have emotional attachment to certain beliefs/issues/sales and to me it looks like that affects what they feel should be edited.

I agree and you may not have to explain yourselves or need justification, this is a private site and all that bs. But still, I think there needs to be some line drawn against excess deleting/editing of posts and threads, or bannings, some balance between rules that make sense and too much regulation of free speech. I think even if it does not have to be done, it is only fair and polite to announce why such an action was taken, so someone else can avoid inadvertantly falling into the same trap. Do you know how infuriating it is to spend the time pouring your heart and soul into some post or thread only to have your work arbitrarily taken away from you or the site? a simple explanation would't be too much to ask. thanks

I can't imagine anyone being pleased that their thread was closed/post deleted but everybody has to live by the rules of the site while they are here so this thread is closed before it turns into a bunch of negativity. If you have a problem with a mod's decision, send them or an admin a private message about it

There is no 'excess' or 'arbitrary' deleting of posts. If they break the site rules, they are removed, simple as that.
