ECSDH Hermie Issues?

I am currently running 3 ECSDH and 2 SSSDH from CSG "ojd" and so far have been very impressed with the growth and vigor. I have been beyond excited to try his gear and the sour diesel linage period (I have only smoked SD once in my life).

Last night however, proved to me that my dreams on smoking or trying them may be coming to an end. 3 Of the ECSDH had balls forming, a few was almost opened up (and in clusters as well). The other 2 ECSDH was not as bad and was not clustered, just single balls. I immediately destroyed the first one (RIP) and almost, I say almost destroyed the second. But instead I just picked them off, they were maybe only 3 balls on this one and 4 or 5 on the other. Now one thing I did notice is they were only on the lower portion of the plant, otherwise the plants all are flowering vigorously and fast, looks like they will all fill in nicely.

A few questions....

First of all, is this a common problem with this strain? That particular lineage of ECSDH? Or is it a problem with Sour Diesel period?

Second, should I leave them and remove or keep plucking the balls? One of the hermies had all hermie balls just on one particular branch.

Third, I am 100% positive there are NO light leaks, they are in a tent inside of a SEALED room where no light even exists, literally. I have not had any problems with them, no burns, no ph swings, no over or under feeding etc etc... I would have to say that I am highly disappointed (not at CSG because I know it is not there fault) at the fact that I was extremely hyped up for these and the price that went along with them to have this outcome... This is my first time running his genetics and have to say they are all very nice looking plants and very healthy, and from what i've seen everyone has very good results with the genetics from CSG so again, not blaming them!....

The SSSDH seem to be doing okay atm (fingers crossed), but I was really looking forward to those ECSDH's....

Now, keep in mind that I am running two separate tent's as well, one of ECSDH in tent #1 and two ECSDH in tent #2. I have several other different strains as well flowering along with them and so far, so good... I done a thorough check last night of every plant and these were the only ones exhibiting the sexual disturbances...

Hope some people can stop by and chat with me about this... :tiphat:

I understand that Diesels & Chems are sensitive and need to be close to dialed no mater the case. Just hearsay to me as my limited experience is different.

I've read of folks plucking the balls that show in weeks 2 or 3 then the plants performing as normal.

In the end, its up to you to decide if a lil ball fondling is appropriate or not.

Pluck they say and your patience will be rewarded. I ran them hard and didn't squeeze a nanner. Genetics come into it as you're well aware but point the finger at your technique as well. Dissect it if you want or accept that you're a Nanner Gazer who fondles male parts whew!

No nanners on any of the ecsdh I ran, just for the record.

I wouldn't be surprised to find them though with chem genetics, particularly with it being a feminized line, especially on lower branches and nodes that get shaded from the light.

Pluck them and you will have no trouble, they won't come back, and you'll have fully female plants.

I get nanners on my Sour, have never had one seed = sterile.

Pluck a few and let them run. If you are just growing for yourself, the worst that can happen is you get some seeds which are very easy to remove when twisting one up :dance013:

I have had my ECSDH throw male flowers a couple of times. Each time it was due to stress of some kind. First time was from temps in the 86-90 range thru flower and the second was my last round. These received no feedings of any kind, just the earth worm casting in the soil. I would guess week 4 was first I noticed it. Appears sterile.

You can see it in the bottom bud.

In fact, out of 15 plants in flower currently, I have 4 that put out male flowers. Maybe one or two per plant, but they are still preset. All of those have Rez's sour diesel in them I believe. The one ECSDH, an ECSDH s1 and 2 different pheno's of Hortliabs Sour Pink Grapefruit. Nothing else has any signs of male parts in any way.

Not saying this is normal. I can guarantee if ran properly non of them would show a male flower. 100% grower related in my situation due to moving rooms mid flower and plants being packed in a tent before that.

Just my thoughts

Peace
