Economy buckets

Home depot has 5 gal. painters buckets on sale for $2 each which is about as cheap as they get anywhere in any amount even on the internet. I just wanted to make sure these buckets which are pretty much identical to every other 5 gal economy bucket are safe for this purpose and that there aren't any dangerous chemicals that could be leeched from the buckets?

I have used buckets and never had a problem with any fumes or chemical. In fact allot of the diy you see are using bickets,ie hemoy and some cloning methods...just my 2 cents

You guys are crazy.

GO TO YOUR LOCAL GROCERY STORE OR BAKERY.

They have way more buckets then they want and they either sell them cheap (last batch I got was 50 cents each) or give them away for free.

They're called 5-gallon trash bins for the bathroom.

Cut some holes and trim off the stupid edge on the top and you're golden. Hell, some of 'em don't even come with the edge.

That's a lot of work, though and they might be hard to find.

As far as economy buckets: yes to the grocery store bakery because frosting/eggs come in them.

Other source = any place that serves lotsa sandwiches/burgers. Pickle spears come in 5 gallon buckets.

if your a reuglar at a donut shop or bakery ask them if you can have the empty buckets. they run through them pretty fast. be sure to buy some donuts afterwards.

seen any square 5 gallon buckets out there?

Depending on how your cities recycling works just drive around on recycling day or go to the plant and pick up a bunch of those square cat litter boxes
