No!I did,I spent 80 dollars on a milwaukee sharp pen and found out my water was dirty,LIKE I ALREADY DIDN"T KNOW THAT lol.Now it sits on the table, forever unused so far as I can tell,if there is any reason to use it,it eludes me.I dont need to know the PPMs of my water or ferts, thats hydro stuff.Live and learn lol.The only thing a soil grower needs to be successful is a bag of dolomite lime and general hydroponics ph test kit for 15 dollars.EDIT Thats a dfamn good question too, wished someone asked it before I got my pen lolDOUBLEEDIT Actually both my milwaukee pens for PPM and ph just sit there unused,I could use my PPM pen but the batteries ran out and I prefer GH Ph test kit anyway

Mr grow if you use dolomite mixed in well whether your nute ph is 8.5 or 5 .5,the runoff will come out near neutral. This shows how important the dolomite is,balancing nute ph is secondary in my opinion.I've heard a lot of folks say yea but it'll "chase" your nute PH,another words your soil ph will become low if a low nute ph is introduced for a period,I havent found this to be the case at all.Sounds good but isnt right. You can do a whole grow with a nute ph of 5 using dolomite and at the end of the grow, the runoff ph will still be near neutral.I balance nute ph only because it takes half a second I know exactly what I need per what I'm using but the dolomite is the important aspect in my mind

Greetings mrgrowmez.

Because of the inherent relative stability of soil as a medium, it is not neccessary to invest in an E.C. meter to achieve a successful grow. Instead, consider an investment in a product containing beneficial micro-organisms to be used in conjunction with a high quality organic source fertilizer line to help safeguard against overfertilization.

Sincerely,
Charles.
