Ebay 6-in-1 TDS/Ph/Temp meter: Y/N?

I am looking to get a meter / monitor and came along this presumably Chinese Special combo monitor on ebay:

6-in-1 Meter

I know it's not a Nutradip and I strongly suspect it's not as accurate as a Nutradip. Question is: is it "good enough"?

Any experiences with this meter - good or bad?

No Experiences but I sure like brand names. I disin't see the mfg listed there

i bought one exactly like that mate, it works alright but needed calibration often. It also just seems a bit cheap and nasty - I ended up buying a separate ph pen, ec pen and thermo afterwards.

Imo, don't buy it.

I DO NOT recommend you get those types of meters. The TDS measuring part may be decent but I can tell the pH measuring will be crap. How? Because they only have 1-point (offset) calibration. Overtime the slope of the pH probe changes, so 2-point (offset & slope) is pretty much mandatory for anyone serious about pH.

Get yourself a pair of Hanna Gro'Checks or a Milwaukee all in one; you'll thank yourself later. :2cents:

sophanox and Pontiac: thanks for the heads up. The warnings are duly noted and I'll not be getting this meter.

As a side note, the meter in question looks like a Nutradip constant multi-monitor - but it is not, in fact, a monitor at all. It's simply a combo meter that you use only when you want to take a reading - like any other pen meter. Except of course, it's frikkin WAY huger than a pen combo meter.

A real Nutradip monitor is a device you can calibrate and then leave the probes in your res throughout your grow to continuously monitor your water's "vital stats". The ebay knock-off can't be used in that manner.

All by way of saying, the device is packaged to look like a knock-off of a Nutradip constant monitor - but that isn't what this gadget actually does.
