Cops nab three in marijuana bust

Nearly 1,300 marijuana plants were found on the 1300 block of Elm Street in San Carlos.
A strong stench of marijuana emanating from a warehouse led to the arrest of three San Carlos residents and the dismantling of an illegal grow operation, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation was discovered after tenants in a neighboring warehouse space on Terminal Way in the industrial area of San Carlos notified the building’s owner about the strong smell of marijuana in the area.
The owner then contacted police to conduct a civil stand-by while he inspected the building, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Upon entering the building, officers detained two men who were in the middle of dismantling an indoor marijuana grow operation. As police detained the two gentlemen, another suspect, Belmont spa owner *************, arrived at the warehouse and was also detained.
The San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force then obtained search warrants for both the warehouse and an associated residence on the 1300 block of Elm Street in San Carlos. A search of the Elm Street residence uncovered nearly 1,300 marijuana plants, six pounds of processed marijuana and evidence related to sales, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The plants were discovered in a backyard shed and some of which had been apparently moved from the Terminal Way warehouse, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A search of the warehouse revealed evidence associated with the cultivation of marijuana.
At both locations, evidence of an illegal electrical bypass was also discovered, said Sheriff’s Cmdr. Marc Alcantara.
He said it was unlikely the three were growing the plant for medical use since they were stealing electricity.
Police estimate the street value of the entire haul to be more than $922,000.
The investigation is ongoing and deputies continue to gather and analyze evidence.
*********, 57, *************, 51, and *************, 33, were eventually all arrested and face charges ranging from cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a place for purpose of drug sales, criminal conspiracy and theft of utilities, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Bail was set at $100,000 for both ************ and ************ and $50,000 for **************, who is the listed owner of Personal Reflections Wellness Spa on Carlmont Drive in Belmont.
All three suspects have been released on bail pending arraignment.

Appologies, I was really stoned and didnt reread the artical or remember the names were there. I caught the artical the other day and It had been on my mind for a few day, then thought it sounded really familur.
Again appologies not trying to out anyone.....in my defence the story shows up on my first page google search for MMJ busts. But I will watch my post better in the future.

Not that I know you or anything but just by the tone of the posts I too would like to express the fact I'm glad that a fellow IC'er (or anyone in the game with a good heart for that matter) is safe 'n sound. Take care brother and keep the faith, we will prevail. It's a war of attrition but the struggle will be worth the reward. dam bro guess they deserve all thats comeing towards them eh tis been quite active here in town just this wk 3-4 grow houses poped in as many days. 108 total for the yr so far in 1 artical duder in charge of the task force. said indoor grows are easy to find they use hydroponic lighting which shows up on FLIR !!!!! as opposed to outdoor grows which tend to be harder. this comment was made shortly after a 4 acre 4,000 plant bust up on the mtn happened last wk.

i wouldnt put it past the millatry to fly nightly training missions over our valley. and then handing over any and all hot spots in the neighborhoods for further investgation to local LEO.
