Eastern Ontario bud pics

Well all things considered not a bad year weather wise and the last couple weeks has been amazing with only a couple mildly frosty nights so here are a bunch of pictures taken in the last couple weeks.

Going to be crossing seedlings from some of these with earlier finishers and some more potent strains as i really prefer my plants to be finished before october as frost is normally a regular visitor come september, in fact this year august was the only month that i did not see an official forecast include the words "risk of frost".

Looks great Slart! Lots of good product from up your way, know a few lads up there. I'm about 4hours from you, and we certainly have a few weeks advantage that you unfortunately do not. But a lot of experienced growers in the valley who still manage to bring stellar product.

Heard about the fan man this summer- nasty bit of work that!

What strain is that purple plant?

I have never set eyes on such vivid purple bud coloration, Slart. Those beauties are unreal.

I always assumed all the purple weed breeds were indica dominant, but this plant you have seems to have long skinny Sativa leaves. May I ask what breed that purple plant is ?

Nice work :) Can we see some pics of the whole plant, and maybe a bit of the surroundings so we can get an idea of the terrain etc? Beautiful deep purple, that looks very tasty!

they may be (Early Purple x Mighty Mite)x(Guerilla Gold)X(Guerilla GoldxEarly Girl) if they are related to the ones he was kind enough to gift to a friend of mine several years ago (who I think never returned the favour? 1000 pardons Slart. pm me please) great looking buds this year man, nice to see youre still around

Sorry about the slow response but i don't have the interweb thing in my ottawa valley home, but yes what Don said is part of what has gone into these (and no hard feelings good sir just happy the seeds found a good home). Basically the purple genes came from a few plants many years ago (Lethal Purple, Purple Star, Purple#1) and i have been crossing them into whatever struck my fancy from what i was growing each year (this is a long list but i can post it if someone is interested) but GG and Mighty Mite have been important to keeping the crosses finishing early (not that it is needed this year as some of the late plants are still growing well even at this late date). I am about to embark on developing a few inbred lines to play with in the future as i can now play around all year indoors as well (and looking forward to crossing to Blue Kush and Pineapple Crush indoors too to bring up the potency). One grow site is zone 5 and the other zone 4 canadian zone style so probably 4B and 3B USDA zone map. Love this hobby and will try and dig up some plant pictures if i can retrieve them from my near dead laptop.

As for the sativa vs indica thing the only purple beast i grew years ago that was definitely in the indica camp was "Lethal Purple" and in it's case the only thing lethal about it was it propensity towards bud rot and out of several females grown that year only one of them was of any use. I have also used Durban Poison and quite a few other sativa looking plants in crosses over the years and now find the more sativa looking plants tend to have better bud rot resistance, quite often i leave a few seeded buds out to mature very late into the season (early November) and rarely see any signs of bud rot (to be honest if the bud has rotted badly those seeds probably don't move on to the next years grow unless there was something exceptional about the plant).
As for weather the stone is of a more indica or sativa flavor i can't comment directly as i don't like to smoke pot but the purps are popular with med patients who don't want to be locked to the couch all day.
