Good question! While earwigs can be beneficial insects (they eat small insects like aphids and also different types of larvae...), they can develop a taste for your leaves. The best thing to do is monitor their populations, and consistently check your leaves for caterpillar-like chewmarks. If they're damaging your girls, use some sticky traps like tanglefoot at the base of your plant. Diatomaceous earth can also deter them, but I don't have any experience with that.
